From the reviews we knew what we were getting ourselves into, but for a couple of lads that just needed a room for 2 nights to rest our heads this hotel was fine. Upon arrival we got there an hour early before the 2pm check in, so were told to come back at 2. We took this time to get some lunch.
Guinness pie at The Norseman Temple bar is lovely!!
We got room 114 when we got back (more like half a room, 6x3meters) with 2 single beds, shower, basin, analogue TV and 1 double socket. 2 shared toilet rooms are out in the corridor.
For breakfast we had a lovely Fry up and there is a continental option too with friendly staff. Wifi is stronger in the restaurant so we used this chance to get our bearings and book our tickets to the distilleries online.
Avondale House is the cheapest in central Dublin and walking distance to the Temple bar area, distilleries and 1-minute walk to the Paddywagon tours office. Also, if you love Crossfit. Ronin Crossfit is only 20 mins away!
For those who require a bit more luxury may want to find an establishment with a few more stars, but for me and my mate that were out most of the time this place was fine.
I just felt sorry for our neighbours next door who had to put up with our snoring! :DMore
