My husband and I stayed at Petra House for three nights in May. It was our first visit to Galway. Petra House provided a wonderful base for us as we explored the Burren and Connamara. We had a lovely room in the back of the house, very quiet. Frank was a wonderful host - always there when you needed him or had a question. One night when we asked him to call a taxi for us he insisted on driving us down to the center himself. He was the personification of calm. Upon returning home after our first day of driving, he was very reassuring and when we decided to book a bus tour the next day he reserved it for us and arranged for them to pick us up at the B&B. He recommended the best pub for us to hear some good music.
We didn't see much of Joan but her breakfasts were delicious.
The B&B is a 15-minute walk from 'downtown' - a very pleasant walk. I can't imagine a nicer place to stay in Galway.More
