Frank and Joan are the lovely hosts of this well-appointed B&B. It is a short and pleasant walk from the center of town, where all the action is - so if you are looking for a quiet and comfortable place to sleep, this is it. Frank helped us with local recommendations while Joan prepared delicious breakfasts. We had a very engaging conversation with both of them before we left - true Irish hospitiality! There's free parking out front, as well as ample street parking.

Petra House was recommended as a top choice accommodation in "Ireland for Dummies" and we couldn't agree more! We struggled to find an appropriate place to stay in Galway and changed our reservations 3 times before ending here. It met our requirements of being easily accessible by car but within walking distance of city center. In addition to a warm welcome from Frank and huge, freshly prepared breakfasts, Petra House was the cleanest place I've ever seen, a point we cannot exaggerate and could not get over. Our room was a bit cramped, which was easy to overlook for the cleanliness in addition to a comfortable bed. The next time we're in Galway, we hope to stay there again!

Petra House was excellent. Impeccable large rooms, fantastic breakfast and warm hosts in Frank and Joan. Over the past five weeks in England and Ireland on walking trips we have stayed in many varied BnBs - Petra is right up there :)

One of our party of four recommends the breakfast hash browns as a 12 out of 10.....

Frank and Joan were the consummate hosts, so friendly, accommodating, cheerful and helpful with directions. The home is lovely and our beds were very comfortable. We had king beds one level up from main entrance and our rooms overlooked their beautiful backyard flower garden. It was very quiet during our stay and the lovely walk to downtown Galway was only 15 minutes where we found many nice pubs/restaurants. And lest I forget, the breakfast menu was delicious and very filling. Loved being greeted so warmly by Frank each morning as he started us off with a basket of bread and scones. Our adult family of six stayed 4 nights and we loved every minute. Felt like we were staying with family. It was the best stay ever!

Room Tip: Back of house overlooking garden is lovely

Clean, well appointed B&B 400 meter walk from the center of town. Frank, the owner couldn't have been more accommodating and pleasant.
Comfortable bed in a quiet upstairs room.
Excellent, tasty breakfast! Try the bacon and eggs.
