I love this part of the Ireland. If you go there some day, I think it will be then always part of your heart.

The Slea Head Drive is part of the Wild Atlantic Way. We stayed in Killarney drove to Dingle then on to Slea Head which has simply stunning views of the peninsula. The route is well sign posted.

The Dingle Loop was worth a drive but some of the attractions along the route are in private land owners' hand. The Ring fort was nothing but just mounts of soil left in circles, it was not identical to photographs taken. The beehive huts, can give a pass if you are not interested (fee Euro 3). The Stone cafe was closed when the drive was made in end November.

I travelled as a part of a tour group in Sept 2016 - incredible views along this drive and well worth it. Only wish the Irish government, however, would make it a one way road! Lots of places to pull over and take photos.

Make sure you stop in the town of Dingle too.

We enjoyed driving along Slea Head Drive and other roads on the peninsula and visiting various towns including Dingle. Unfortunately for us, it was a misty day so the views would have been more spectacular on a sunny day. During our drive we visited some beehive huts, a famine exhibit, a pottery gallery and other sights. We also drank in the wonderful views.

We would rate the Dingle peninsula as the second best of the southwestern Ireland peninsulas (the Ring of Beara was our favourite and the Ring of Kerry, although also beautiful, particularly along the less traveled Skellig Ring, would be #3). However, we still believe that the peninsula is outstanding and well worth a visit
