This mountain (described as little more than a small hill by one book I have) is some 580m above sea level. The walk can be a little difficult in places, but is mainly up and down sleepers, you can't get lost and the view at the top is superb. I think if you look around the full 360 you can see all the main lakes of Killarney. Be warned though, it can be windy up there!
If you want to save some climbing, then use the car park at the top of Torc Waterfall. You get to this by taking the first left turning past Muckross house as you drive from Killarney towards Kenmare. It's not signposted as a car park, and the road is quite narrow in places, but it could save your knees some grief. If you get to the car park at the bottom of the falls, use it to turn around as you missed the turning.
My wife and I are over 50, and not particularly fit. We managed it from the bottom of the waterfall, but we did have complaining knees and muscles afterwards. No regrets though, it was easily the best view we had in 2 weeks in Killarney.
