“Fantastic location and accommodating staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2012

From the moment we arrived for our honeymoon, Brian and his staff were bending over backwards to make our stay memorable. I have never witnessed such a commitment to serving customers/visitors. The lone disappointment is that we only stayed two nights and not any longer. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through Ireland in the west or southwest. Brian, I can assure you that we will return again. My wife and I were astounded at the level of service provided - hand-written welcome note, small refreshments, cleanliness, calling to book adventures/tours for us. All of this greatly enhanced our experience at the Royal and ensured we will return our next visit. I greatly appreciate you and your excellent staff.

We were booked into this hotel as a couple and young adult son ready to share a room. Weren't we surprised when we were given a suite for ourselves and a private single room for my son. He was in heaven over this. Our room was amazing with a large bed alcove, sitting room and enormous bathroom. We ate dinner in the bar and the food was excellent as was the bartender. I wish we could have stayed longer, but at least we got to experience this wonderful place.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Killarney Royal hotel in March, 2012. The hotel offers rooms which are very large, even by American standards and with spacious and well-lit bathrooms. Each room has air-conditioning and is quiet despite it's location near the center of town. Parking is available directly across the street for a fee, but free parking is also offered by the hotel. The lobby is welcoming and is filled with couches and (usually) a fire in the fireplace. Breakfast is served in a lovely room and is cooked to order (options include but are not limited to a full Irish breakfast, pancakes, eggs, yogurt parfait, porridge, etc) although there are a number of items available on a buffet including fruit, juices, cereals, pastries, and fresh fruit. The server wears a black uniform with a white apron and a quiet and polite dignity thereby appearing like a character from "Downton Abbey." It's a lovely way to start the day.

Although the physical attributes of the hotel are perfect, it is the staff that truly earn this property my highest recommendation. Each staff member that I encountered was genuinely warm and friendly. Every question or request was fulfilled with a smile and each person took the time to provide tips as to the best way to see the area.

Just returned from two weeks traveling in Ireland. This is our third trip over to Ireland and our third time returning to the Killarney Royal. This hotel is absolutely in the best location. Close to restaurants, attractions and shops. We travel to Europe often and can honestly say you will never stay at a warmer, more welcoming hotel. I think I can say they have the BEST service of any hotel I have ever stayed at. After a long drive from Dublin through Friday traffic, Brian Scully knew we were tired and went and parked our car in the lot for us. Parking is paid for by the hotel. We spent six nights with them this time and it could not be better. Breakfast every morning with Margaret was stellar. By the second day she knew to bring coffee, brown bread toast and fresh scones. Kathleen at the desk is always welcoming. Billy at the bar will help you in any way from a teaching you how to pour a proper Guinness, giving you places to go with wonderful directions, to changing light bulbs in your room. The most remarkable thing was that we got a flat tire in front of the hotel before we were leaving for a day trip. Paul came out promptly to help with the changing of the tire so the guys could take it to have it repaired. The girls decided not to lose time and went shopping. On the way to the shops we ran into Brian the owner of the hotel. He asked how we were doing and we told him we had gotten a flat tire. Our husbands said that when Brian reached the hotel(dressed in a wonderful looking suit) he promptly got down on his knees on the wet street to help Paul with the tire. You will NEVER see that anywhere else. The helped the guys with the tire, got it repaired and we were off to Ross Castle and Muckross House for the day and it ended beautifully. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, because, it is the small buffet with anything you want off the menu. Dinners in both the restaurant and bar are absolutely delicious and as always service cannot be compared. Tea in the parlor if wonderful. We sat there and had tea while the St. Patricks parade passed by. I advise anyone who will be visiting the Killarney area to stay at this hotel. The staff is like a family where everyone has a job, but, they also jump in when there is any problem and just always know how to fix it. Thank you Killarney Royal and ALL your staff for a wonderful stay and we will return again and again and again.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. We have stayed in rooms and suites and all are spacious, welcoming and war...

My sister, neighbour and myself wandered in here on Saturday evening just for a tasty snack as we weren't that hungry. The three of us got the tastiest of homemade foods in two courses for €40.00 altogether. I relished their crabmeat and avocado salad served so generously on freshly home baked wholemeal bread; my sister who is on a fat-free diet following the removal of gallbladder enjoyed a chicken salad with plenty of grated raw veg adorning it and dressing served in a bowl on the side; neighbour had a toasted special excluding cheese - again generously served with house salad and delicious, chunky, dry chips. We licked our fingers after gulping down Real sherry trifle(and it did contain real Sherry) The happy, efficient waiter went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our order was just right and was recommending how each dish could be enhanced. He added a pot of tea to round the meal off. May I complement the Manager and the culinary skills of his chefs and tell them they deserve huge success in their business. They really make you feel that you are a valued customer. I can't wait to return.

The people were very friendly and I know you have to park in a car par near by it didnt matter. It was close to everything. We are going back to the same hotel again this year, looking forward to it. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable.
