“Best B & B in Killarney”
Reviewed 9 August 2011

This is a beautiful B & B in Killarney in a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood. The rooms are very spacious and the bed is incredibly comfortable. Even the towels have a special scent and softness like I have experienced nowhere else.

For breakfast you get to select from a menu with a large variety of breakfast combinations. We usually did not eat again until dinner time. There is a computer for guests to use and Denis and Rosaleen will answer any questions you might have on tours and help you with bookings.

Even though your accommodations are not located in the heart of Killarney, this is actually better. Ross Castle is in a quiet peaceful area away from traffic noise and anytime you want to go into town you can simply drive there. Parking is easily available in town in city parking lots at a very low charge. The hotels in the city center have the traffic noise late into the night, small rooms and you will not get Rosaleen's wonderful breakfast every morning.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of this property which represents excellent value. Very modern, well maintained and very comfortable. Location is also a plus on the Ross Castle Road with easy access to Killarney Town Centre and Ross Castle. The only downside was the breakfast (scrambled eggs in our case) which lacked flavour and consistency but this is a minor criticism given the high standard of the accommodation. Highly recommended.

Ross Castle Lodge is just a nice hop, skip, and a jump from Ross Castle. We were warmly greeted by Rosaleen who showed us to our rooms and was very helpful with determining where we wanted to go to dinner that evening in Killarney. We stayed two nights at the Lodge and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Both mornings 2 in our party enjoyed the full Irish breakfast while the other 2 had wonderful fruit, yogurt, and brown bread. I enjoyed one of the best cups of coffee on our trip! If we come to Killarney again we will make a b-line for Rosaleen's B&B. While in the Killarney area we drove the circle tour of Dingle Bay described in Rick Steve's Book which provided us with a great day. We also visited Ross Castle and Muckross House which were well worth the time!

Room Tip: I would ask for a second floor room above garden.

This was the cutest place to stay -just like out of a postcard picture. Rosaleen is so inviting and helpful. The rooms were huge and beautiful. We were so comfortable here- could stay forever. Breakfast was amazing- definately order the fruit. It was almost too pretty to eat. There is a computer that they allow guests to use which was a nice touch.
It is a little far out of town, but if you are a walker -it is for you. It is only a 1/2 mile walk and you can walk through the park which is wonderful. It is also very close to the castle which was a great plus since it was on my to do list. It was a great place to spend the last days of our trip. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Killarney.

This B&B is over a km out of the city center, so I highly recommend a taxi if the weather isn't looking great. From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed by Rosaleen and her husband as if you're long lost family members. They provided us with a wealth of information to guide us in our sightseeing. All of the breakfast choices were tasty and bountiful.

My husband and I stayed at Ross Castle Lodge for two nights during our honeymoon. We had a spacious room on the upper floor that overlooked the back garden and had a chaise lounge. Rosaleen was a lovely hostess, providing us with a guide book and helpful information for our stay in Killarney. We loved being within walking distance of Ross Castle and town center. We would absolutely stay here again when we come back to Killarney!
