“Second time as good as the first!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2012

Had been to the Newpark hotel for a Christmas party 6 years ago. Had a lovely time so when myself and my partner decided to go away for the weekend to Kilkenny, this hotel sprung to mind. All on reception were extremely helpful from the moment we got there. Any question we asked, no matter how ridiculous!, was answered in a friendly helpful manner.
The room we had was smaller than the previous time we stayed, right at the back of the hotel. Didn't bother us as it was still lovely. The leisure facilities were a dream. Never crowded except for the infinity pool but that was never for too long. We were able to swim without 100 people crashing into us ad the gym had plenty of machine free. This is not to say it was never busy, we just went very early in the morning and late in the evening.
Would I come back to this hotel for a 3rd time....most definitely. I'm just waiting to get some time off to head back to Kilkenny!

We were a group of 2 families, totalling 6 people ranging in age from 20 years to 86 staying between Christmas 2011 and the New Year. We stayed in 3 rooms in the newer wing and had a very pleasant time. The service was very good and responsive, the food in the dining room and bar was very tasty and priced well, the leisure facilities were excellent. The only drawback was excessive heat in the bedroom - we removed the feather mattress 'topper' off the bed. At times getting mobile fone connection in the bedroom was difficult and the hotel staff tried their best to deal with this; ameliorated by standing close to the window. People loved to sit by the 'turf' fire in the lobby and watch weddings come and go when the weather outside was cold & wet. Will come back again.

My partner & I are just back from a one night stay at the Newpark Hotel. This is our third stay at this hotel. The receptionist was very friendly & check in was quick & very informative. We were delighted to be given a upgrade to a superior room upon checking in. Our room was lovely with a nice garden view. Room was very spacious with a separate shower & bath. We used the leisure facilities for almost 3 hours especially the outdoor infinity pool which is just heaven. We dined in the bar that evening & we were served promptly & the food was very tasty. We got a newspaper at our door the next morning which was great. Breakfast was fabulous with a good variety of food available. Upon check out we were given a little gift of spa goodies which was a very thoughful gesture & very much appreciated. We left Newpark Hotel with talk of when we could come stay again !

My aunt passed away 1st September 2010 (it's awhile back, but just subscribed to TA). The funeral mass was in St John's Church so we thought this would be the closest. I booked two rooms on the internet and everything went well when we arrived. Our rooms were not ready when we came to the hotel (about 1pm), but that was not a problem as we needed something to eat as the removal was not until 6.30pm. The rooms were so comfortable and the staff were so friendly and sympathetic. My Dad was very upset obviously at the time, but it helped that all our needs were taken care of. My uncle came with us and stayed too. He is disabled and it was great that there was a disabled spot in the hotel car park. I would definitely recommend to stay here again.

Our company opted to head out of Dublin for our Christmas Party and we joined the Christmas Party Night on December 9th 2011. It started with a mulled wine reception in the lobby followed by a luscious 4 course meal. There was a great swing band and a DJ until the early hours of the next morning. The staff were very welcoming and friendly even when they were at their busiest, checking in a never ending queue of guests. The evening we arrived there was already a wedding in process, but the hotel never seemed over packed, and there was a really relaxed atmosphere.
We were given a triple room with a balcony. The room was huge with a flat screen tv, full fridge and a 2 person dinner table and chairs. The bed was extremely comfortable with extra blankets and pillows provided in the wardrobe. The bathroom was designed as a wetroom with a walk in shower, a large bath and a well lit vanity and handbasin unit.
There is also a fantastic leisure centre with a plunge pool, sauna and jacuzzi.
I would highly recommend this hotel, and look forward to staying here again
