I stayed in Augusta Lodge for 3 nights and really enjoyed the stay! Place is a 10 min walk from town and David was really helpful in giving information about local restaurants, walks, sightseeing tours etc. The place had a lovely homely feel to it and was immaculately clean. The rooms were a great size with all necessities and very comfy! The breakfast was also fab! I'll be back !

We stayed at the Augusta for 3 nights with friends. As soon as we arrived Dave and Steph welcomed us with a smile. My husband and friend both smoke so Steph said that if one of them wanted we could change our allocated room to one with a patio so it was easier for them to have a cigarette. This was really thoughtful. The rooms were both a good size and very clean. Clean towels 2 out of the 3 days and plenty of tea and coffee. They directed us into town and recommended restaurants and bars also offering us maps of local tourist attracitions. The day before we travelled I phoned to see if they had a local taxi number for me to arrange collection from the airport. This was provided and I arranged collection with a very nice man, Martin who we also used throughout the weekend and trip back to the airport. The breakfast at the Augusta was great, fresh and plenty. If you wanted anything, you only had to ask. I asked for some squash but they didn't have any, they did the next day! The West did lovely bar food. They had run out of Black Pudding and my friend ordered this so they went to the local butchers to buy more. That's service! Matt Molloys is good for an Irish jamming session. The Helm Restaurant on the Quay is very good with a vast menu and all foo was very fresh and nice. It gets busy so booking is recommended. The walk from the guest house to the quay is lovely and then on to the town. Quay to town is a straight path and about 2km. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends/family. Knock airport is about 70km from Augusta Lodge. You need to pay 10 Euro each on departure from the airport.

Room Tip: Room 1 had a patio which was nice to let plenty of Irish fresh air in to the room.

Augusta Lodge punches way above its weight in the guesthouse market. The rooms are a good size and nicely furnished, with lovely bedding, and great shower pressure in the bathroom, which is not always the case in Ireland. The hosts were lovely, providing us with a wealth of informaiton on activities and things to see and do. We followed their recommendations, exploring the Western Greenway Cycle trail and dining in the Wyat Hotel, both were fantastic experiences. They were very friendly and chatty, and we enjoyed their company immensely. The breakfast was nice, and the sitting room/ guest common room was a fantastic addition, and would make the place ideal for large groups. Overall, this was our favourite guesthouse in all of Ireland. Thank you very much for such a lovely and warm experience!!!

Stayed at Augusta Lodge for 2 nights in Janurary 2012. It was by far the best accommodation we had experienced on our 10 day trip in Ireland. Having been welcomed and shown to our room by Dave, he then gave us advice on where to tour, where to dine, and the best pubs to sample guinness and Irish hospitality. Our room had all the modern conveniences you would expect in a hotel, and the King Size bed was awesome.
Next morning after a fabuluous filling breakfast we decided to stay an extra night. We will be back to this lodge next time we visit Ireland. It is simply "As good as it gets."

Room Tip: Go for the King Size beds.
