Lovely location, with a lovely walk across the causeway to the island. The welcome was lovely and warm, with our hosts showing us on a map our location and places to see and visit. Room was comfortable, with a lovely view over the bay from the french doors and a balcony too. Free wifi was useful for checking emails. Breakfast was traditional Irish, but plenty of other choices too. Local produce high on the menu, which pleased me, as I am a bit of a greeny :) Going back this weekend, another business trip, but I think I'll have to make more appointments here....

Room Tip: Very quiet, off the beaten track. We had a room on the front, with a view over the bay, don't kn...

We chose Seapoint House as opposed to somewhere in Westport , as it seemed to have a quiet location directly on Clew Bay. We were not disappointed - with glorious views of the bay from our room. Seapoint House is attractively furnished and with Carol being a most welcoming and helpful host, it a very pleasant place to spend a few days - or even longer.

Just can't give this place enough praise but I think it's mostly down to the service that we received. Carol was very welcoming and on arrival we were offered scones with our tea. The rooms were lovely - nothing spectacular but everything you want and need in a room. Carol was very accommodating as we had some champagne and beer with us and she made sure we had champagne flutes and a cool bag for the beers. The breakfast was fab - great selection and lovely treacle bread and homemade jams. The setting of the place is just lovely with nice views over the bay but beware its probably further out of Westport than you think - but worth the drive! We'll hopefully return some day.....enjoy!

Great location on Clew Bay. Wonderful breakfasts, choice of Full Irish or cereal, yogurt, etc. Very friendly and helpful staff. When we arrived we were offered tea, but had a bottle of wine we wanted to have on the terrace. Carol brought us cheese and crackers to go with it. Another evening she was going into town and offered us a ride so we wouldn't have to drive after dark, then we took a cab back. Would love to return some day.

We absolutely loved this b+ b, its location, beside the sea, the view from our room overlooking Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick, the high standard of cleanness and attention to detail and the amazing breakfast. Nothing was precooked; everything was cooked fresh when ordered. Our hostess Carol made us feel very welcome upon arrival having tea and scones with us while she gave us all the information and local knowledge of the area. She recommended a beautiful restaurant for us to dine in that evening and organised a taxi there and back as we didn’t feel like driving again. We arrived back later that evening and went for a relaxing walk along the shore where we experienced a beautiful sunset over Clew Bay. Seapoint House is a magical and peacefull place and Carol is a wonderful hostess .We will definitely be back and for longer next time.

Stayed here on a family car trip through Ireland in June 2011. The house is well out of Westport town (5K north on the N89, then an additional 4K off the main road), but good signage and the owners directions on my confirmation email allowed us to find it with no problem. The house is simply gorgeous, and you simply couldn't ask for a nicer location. Connor and Carol were gracious hosts, and we enjoyed our stay tremendously.
Seapoint House does lack a few of the bells and whistles of other B&Bs--no internet, no tea or coffee in the rooms. But the rooms are sizable, beautiful, and quite comfortable, and I find it hard to believe that anyone willing to drive 9K off the beaten path to stay at a B&B on the water would be too bothered by having to go without internet for a night.
In response to the previous reviewer who suggested that the hostess is "over her head" managing three children and a B&B, I really don't think that assessment is fair. During our stay, Carol was clearly busy, but we never felt that she was inattentive to us or that she didn't have the business fully in hand. I can't speak about every room in the house, so some may be a bit worn around the edges as the reviewer describes, but the four rooms that our party used were all comfortable and in great shape. I'd recommend this B&B to anyone.

It's all in the details. Bathroom was in disrepair -- front panel coming off jacuzzi, mirror didn't fit in its housing, bathlight going on and off at will. Decor was dowdy and grounds neglected. All in all it looked like the home of a woman who was in over her head, which we believe Carol is with her three children, who screamed from the kitchen the entire breakfast one morning. Breakfast was sparse, with orange juice only, no fruit -- unless you opted to bite into a whole apple or banana -- and the only choices offered full Irish breakfast or porridge (oatmeal), which should be avoided as it was tasteless glue unlike the wonderful oatmeal we had other places. In other words, the B & B seems to be a haphazard sideline.
