Just back from a weekend at the hotel. The room was clean, bright and airy - a bit of a tile missing in the bathroom only thing we didnt like. The bar and and restaurant were nice and food was tasty. The staff were friendly, the receptionist was very welcoming.
The only thing that I was disappointed in was the spa area - it felt dirty and unwelcoming This area needs to be revamped. just a bit of imagination and the spa could be a great place to chill out in.

We stayed here for 1 nite in January. Great location & value for money but honestly there was a few things that were v disappointing! The shower dripped all night! Rooms were dated but clean. We got a room that was next to the elevator and could hear it all night(never heard an elevator so loud) Bar food was lovely and staff very friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as far away from the elevator as possible.

OK, I stayed here on a stag weekend and booked up 12 rooms. I know stag parties can be a pain at the best of times for staff etc and in fairness the reception staff at the hotel were pretty accommodating and friendly. Physically the hotel is in bad bad shape. It looks run down from the outside and lobby and restaurant look ok. The rooms are like stepping back in time.....but not in a good way. The room was cold during the day and the radiators were nearly luke warm. The water in the shower was tepid at best but the hot water in the bath tap would scald you (go figure), so I had a bath instead.
My biggest problem with the place is the bar food + service. On the Friday night I had a lovely steak and the food quality was good. On the Saturday evening I went for the steak again and ordered a medium and was asked to pay for it in advance (€19). 60 mins later no food and no explanation. The bar man told me he didn't know what was happening. Another bar said there was nothing he could do because he didn't take my order (WTF??!!). The steak arrived after an hour and five mins with onion rings and pepper sauce which i specifically expressed in the order i did not want as i am celiac. The steak was also red raw so i sent it back. 15 mins later another came up (with onion rings and pepper sauce) and rawer than the previous one so I asked for an explanation. I was told they sold 25 of them that night and no one else had a problem (it was my own fault or course!!). With that, what looked like the hotel manager came out (he was the only one wearing a cheap looking pinstripe suit) to see who the fussy mug was. He was about as useful as t*ts on a bull. When asked if there was a problem in the kitchen (losing my patience slightly) he proceeded to pretend he didn't hear me until I had to raise my voice. Then he came down to me and looked at me in disgust and said "ok" and pretended to make a phone call to the kitchen (no apology/explanation). My steak came out the 3rd time (with onion rings and pepper sauce) and this time (95mins later) it was cooked ok. I ate it while having to endure the hotel manager's disapproving glare across the bar.
The only explanation I have is the manager's incompetence has to be rubbing off on the bar staff and kitchen staff. I have worked in hotels before and if the guests aren't happy, the manager comes down like a ton of bricks. Not here. No organisation - No customer service - No friendly face (with the exception of reception staff). This hotel would put you off Sligo. Stay away.

Stayed 1 night, room was clean and basic with dated furniture and decor. Free wi-fi was advertised to be available in the room but it was not and only 4 irish tv channels were available instead of cable tv with channels listed in the guest guide. The swimming pool and the gents locker room were freezing. The hot tub also was only lukewarm. On the plus side the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is close to everything.

We stayed here recently for a short break and given the quite good reviews, we were very disappointed. The bar food was ok but the food in the dining room was very poor. The walls in our room were paper thin, to such an extent that we could hear everything from next door and I really mean EVERYTHING! in my opinion, its best point is its closeness to the train station and city centre. It would probably be fine for a very brief stay but definitely not for a romantic break.
