just come back from harrogate the place itself was friendly and even though it was very cold we were greeted with a warm welcome at the kimberly. we stayed in the new block at the back of the hotel which was lovley and quiet, the room was modern and very spacious. the staff were great and very helpfull great location. easy to get into the centre of town where all the bars and restaurents are. we ate at the hotel which i can say was excellent. well worth it only downside was the car park is not big enough for the hotel. and you had to pay £6.00 the day.

Room Tip: room 30001 and upwards

If this was a 2 star hotel I wouldn't have been quite so disappointed, but after staying at the Kimberley hotel I still question how this got a 4 star rating. We stayed in a standard double room (1014) and got into the room to find we were above the hotel kitchen with a view of a big extractor fan (through a filthy window) and the room had a horrid and very strong smell of food. The room was too warm, there was no thermostat and we couldn't open the window as the extractor was noisy and it let even more unpleasant smells in. We called reception and was told point blank that we couldn't be moved to another room as all the other standard rooms were full (weds night) The toilet was a saniflo toilet which was incapable if flushing paper away and also made a lot of noise. The room was tastefully furnished, however the staining on the carpet and damage to the ceiling slightly spoilt this. in the morning we were rudely awoken by a fire alarm ( apparently caused by a problem in another room) and we discovered that the water pressure was so weak on the shower that we would have had more joy getting a sparrow to spit on us from a distance. What's most disappointing is that the hotel manager has made no effort to contact us to discuss the problems we had with our stay ( which I'm sure can't be typical as they'd be out of business). On the plus side the location is excellent. My advice is avoid rooms 1014 and 1012 as they are over the kitchen. Maybe the superior rooms are responsible for the 4 star rating.

Hotel very conveniently located, basic room, could not connect to the advertised wifi.
We had used a voucher, so value for money was good, would not want to be paying the full rack rate.
Parking is an issue, none available in the car park but we were able to snaffle a free spot around the corner in Coppice Drive. Otherwise its get a disc from reception and move the car every three hours.
Breakfast was good.

Just arrived back from a 2 night stay after buying a KGB deal. Stayed in September for 1 night also. Both visits where great and would definitely go back. The only thing that we could fault the hotel on was the service at breakfast. Looks like we got to breakfast at the right time both days as we got seated straight away. No problems on first day but on the second day felt like we were sat at an invisible table as we couldn't attract the attention of anyone to order tea and toast ( you have to order them, the rest of it is buffet). Finally got both after we had eaten an excellent buffet breakfast. I am not one for cooked brekkie and would usually just have toast but not being one to complain made do with the breakfast. This didn't affect our stay but only thing that wasn't perfect. Great stay and will be back at some point :-)

We only stayed here for a single night, but we found the Kimberley Hotel to be a delightful get away hotel. Comfortable and modern style rooms in a perfect location just two minutes away from Harrogate town centre and its main selection of restaurants and bars.

The guy who was working behind the desk was extremely helpful as were the staff in the bar/restaurant downstairs. All round great experience and will return in the future.
