This reasonably priced B&B needs your attention. We stayed 1 night passing through Harrogate to visit Bettys and Harlow Carr. It is situated in a quiet-ish street literally around the corner from the Convention Centre, a short walk to the city centre shops (including Bettys) and a picturesque 45 minute walk to the RHS garden Harlow Carr through Valley Gardens & The Pinewoods. There is ample on-street parking with a permit supplied on arrival. The welcome you receive from Richard and Judy is exemplary. We stayed in double room number 2. It was filled with the biggest very comfortable bed with lovely sheets and pillows. The large bay overlooking the street had thick curtains and blinds. A small shower room en-suite was spotless, a bit of a "trickler" but servicable. The towels white; soft clean smelling and fluffy. Free wi-fi internet access (always a bonus) with numerous electrical sockets; plenty of tea and coffee with facilities in the room; a mobile fan (as it was hot weather) and flat screen TV. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order between 8 & 9, with a lovely range of fresh fruit and creamy fruit yoghurt and freshly made toast and cafitiere coffee. What a bargain, what a treat.

Family run, friendly B&B within a few minutes walk of beautiful Harrogate with many shops - chains and family run businesses. The room was small, clean with every facility required and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The breakfast was delicious - tasty bacon and sausages are to be recommended! The only criticism I have of the Welford was the smell of smoke thoroughout the property which resulted in my rating being 4 instead of 5 stars.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, we put alot of time into trying to make guests welcome and comfortable when staying with us, our rooms are not over large as we are a victorian terraced house, also I would just like to say I'm sorry that you felt that there was a smell of smoke throughout our home, we are a non smoking guesthouse and try to ensure everyone understands this, we hope this does not put you off staying with us in the future.
Kind Regards Judy

Exceptionally good B&B within a few minutes walk of Harrogate centre and plenty of good restaurants. Modern clean rooms with excellent en-suite. Lovely breakfast cooked and served by the exceptional hosts Richard and Judy. Nothing was too much trouble. It's only a shame I can only give it a 5 rating they deserve a 10.

We arrived at the hotel to be shown to our room by Judy, the room was lovely, very clean and had everything we needed and more (especially loved the big bed). Nothing was too much trouble. Went down for breakfast and was greeted by bowels of assorted fresh fruit, cereals, juices, yoghurts, and a menu with several options of hot breakfast (try the sausage they are very tasty), tea, coffee and toast, in fact again everything you could wish for. We where more than pleased with our stay and if we go again to Harrogate we will certainly be returning to The Welford.
