The stairs are linoleum, the finishes haphazard, there was no hot water in our ensuite shower (though fortunately there was in the shared bathroom), and the food, though Greek, won't win any culinary prizes nor is very cheap—but Nicki's very Mediterranean hospitality, typical of his native Cyprus, makes you willing to forgive all that. The place is handy for the nearby Cathedral and the rest of the town centre.

First discovered Nicki's in 2003 for my hen party. Have returned on numerous occassions with friends and for a quiet getaways with my husband. The food is absolutely fab along with the friendly service from Nicki and all his staff. Cannot recommend this place highly enough for a cheap getaway. The location is great to, walking distance into Gloucester town. Always feel part of the family when we return.

Wow, This has to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in. We enjoyed out stay so much that i wanted to write a review. This hotel is in the centre of gloucester in a very pretty scenic town. (It is just a short walk from the train station) It took 4 hours by Train to arrive at Gloucester which meant we didn't arrive until 10pm but this was no problem. Nicki a Greek gentlemen was so welcoming as we entered the hotel, he offered us a selection of rooms telling us we could just pik our favourite. He then asked what time we would like breakfast in the morning. He continued to say we could come down whenever we wanted and eat whatever we liked. Such a lovely hotel. Warm and friendly and the rooms are big and spacious not to mention value for money.. 1 night including breakfast for 2 people was just only £55! In the morning we were greeted with a smile and asked what would you like for breakfast you can have anything we will cook it for you. Then when we finished our meal he asked if we would like anymore. He asked us our plans for the day and gave us tips on where to go, as we left he said that we could comeback later in the day for a FREE cup of tea if we wanted - which we did as it was such a friendly atmosphere. We really can't praise this hotel enough! It is well worth a look!
