We have been to this restaurant on several occasions. Every time the service has been poor. It's difficult to get hold of the waitresses, too busy talking to one another and they always get something wrong with the order.
The food is generally OK, but just OK, nothing special. It seems to be perceived as borderline fine dining but only by the easily pleased. In reality it's average pub food in a slightly above average setting. The pricing however is just silly. Lunchtimes are better value but that's not saying much.
Having taken a client there recently I was horribly embarrassed when the most simple thing on the menu, a sirloin steak, could not be cooked correctly. Ordered medium rare it arrived well done. The comment by the waitress of 'I think there's a bit of pink there' (there was none) was not helpful and shows that they're not very well trained. The replacement was even more overcooked. Basic mistakes - so disappointing.
It's always good to let management know where they can improve but a constructively worded email to the manager was completely ignored. They have lost several customers as a result. A shame as there is potential there but it seems to be lazily run and without much in the way of standards. Certainly there is no customer focus.
