This hotel was a blessing for us, due to a mix up we were left trying to find somewhere to stay 3 days before our trip during october school holidays. I found this hotel through google maps and it appealed to us due to the proximity to the airport.

On arrival it was a hidden gem, the rooms were fabby, staff friendly and so close o the airport it was hard to believe! (it's only down 1 floor in the lift from arrivals) Yet it was quiet and comfortable and I can't wait until my return to a 'Yotel'.

What can I say about this new concept on hotels and convenience. Well it was certainly an experience, and thankfully not to unpleasant a one.
If you have ever had a cabin on a cross channel ferry you will get an idea of what to expect. Space is of a premium in this standard cabin. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is at hand. Space is the very barest minimum acceptable for the average person, but as a slightly older and larger person it pose a few challenges.
In particular the climb in and out of the bed was not as easy as it should have been. However once in the bed itself was clean and comfortable and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. The major advantage that the Yotel has is its location inside the South Terminal building. In addition it offers short stays of 4 hours for the weary travellers. I stayed the full evening, but at £55 per night with no breakfast its value for money must be questioned. This is especially true with the nearby Mercure and other nearby hotels offering bed AND breakfast at under £50 per night its value for money must be questioned. All in all I found this a perfectly adequate and comfortable overnight experience, but lacking in any form of charm or charisma. I might use this hotel again, bur with so many others offering better value for money, I will reserve judgement.

Stayed in the Yotel as we had an early morning flight out of Gatwick. Check in is automated although a member of staff did greet us and show us to our room.

Initially on arrival at the Yotel I was a little taken aback by the lack of room and space age appearance (mainly due to the lighting). However, lighting can be changed and controlled as you wish. We shared a double room with a remote controlled bed that extended into the room at the touch of a button. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great sleep due to the excellent sound proofing. Despite appearances, the room was well designed with lots of underbed storage so that even a traveller with a lot of luggage should not struggle.

The bathroom was clean and tidy and had an excellent power shower and lovely big soft towels. TV in room, hairdryer and earplugs available from reception. No problems at all with our stay.

I always stay at Yotel if I have an early flight from Gatwick or Heathrow. The pod is purely functional and contains a flat screen TV, comfy bed & pillows and a small stand for luggage. The bathroom has a great showerhead and they supply bath gel/shampoo. Don't bother with the food from the galley, as it is overpriced. Instead, go upstairs and into the terminal for a choice of restaurants and cafes. M&S Food is really close to the elevator near Yotel. You can't beat the location if you have a really early flight and it's great to get a little extra sleep in the morning.

I had a layover at Gatwick from 5am until 1.30pm. I booked the hotel from 6am to 12 pm and it was the greatest event of the whole trip.

After an international flight, I LOVED having a clean bed with a flat screen tv, private shower and toilet all very beautiful and very relaxing. The chaos of the airport was worlds away in my cocoon under it all. It was just what I needed. A few hours of rest and free WiFi seeing as phone service would've been very expensive.

The staff was very nice and sweet offering an alarm clock and even setting it for me. I was even told that it would be ok if I ran a bit late leaving (about 15 min),

The perfect respite after feeling so tired and icky after all that travel. It is very small, but for me alone it was wonderful. Cannot say enough good things about it.

Highly recommend it.

I've used the Yotel several times now. The best Easyjet flight out from Gatwick is the first of the day, before the airport gets crowded and before any delays start. If you arrive the evening before, you can check in for your flight after 8 p.m. and just take minimum luggage to the Yotel. Even if you're delayed on the way to the airport, there's no big stress as you have plenty of spare time. After a nice restful sleep, stroll out into the terminal and hop on the flight without needing to queue for checkin.
The Yotel staff are always very helpful and welcoming. The superior rooms are surprisingly pleasant and spacious (considering their "pod" billing). It's quiet. It's not particularly cheap, but at least you only pay for the time you actually need and the booking process is good.
