“Lovely venue, great value for money”
Reviewed 22 January 2012

My fiancee and I had strayed from our native Bedford and were in Milton Keynes at Sunday lunchtime and thought we'd pop in.

The restaurant is set within a windmill, and we were lucky enough to get a secluded little table for two - Table 72 - right at the top of the windmill, albeit it was bit gloomy and I had to squint a bit when the food arrived. There's a nice relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant, which wasn't quite as busy as I would have expected for 1pm on a Sunday, but it was only 3 weeks or so after Christmas/ New Year.

You order from the bar (remembering the table number) and there's plenty of set meal deals e.g. 2 for £10. The choice is very varied, and you can pay premiums for extra courses or larger plates. We had the Sunday Roast Beef and an 8oz Rump Steak. Both were very good, nice and hot and good sized portions. The only critical points were that napkins never arrived and the advertised sausage in bacon was missing from the Roast; hardly big issues.

If you fancy a good value, good quality steakhouse style/ traditional Pub fayre meal, then you can't do much better for the setting, variety, quality and price.
