Description: The Walled Garden Restaurant occupies the site of what was originally kitchen vegetable plot for Barton Grange. We felt that the garden with it’s mellow brick walls and pergola would make a good foundation for our restaurant – and we liked the idea of retaining it’s culinary purpose – so we covered it with a roof and filled it with tables and chairs. Diners can now relax over their meals in the conservatory, enjoy semi-private dining in the summer house – or even gather around the sink in the old wash house, should they choose! We are open throughout the day for lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals. Enjoy a bottle of wine from our extensive menu or to try one of the select few bottles of open wine & fizz see on our blackboard menu. At the Walled Garden Restaurant we take great pride in using the best local Lancashire produce.

WE went here for Afternoon Tea as a treat for my partner who is celebrating her 60th birthday soon. We chose to have the Sparkling Afternoon Tea which comes with a Glass of Prosecco each. There were lots of really nice & tasty sandwiches including Tuna, Salmon and Ham. There was also a range of nice cakes and jelly with cream & fruit. We also had the scones with cream & jam which wee delicious. And we finished it off with coffee and tea. The service was excellent throughout. We wee all full but still had several sandwiches and some scones left. We were really cheeky and asked for a doggy bag for the leftovers and the staff were happy to oblige.

Booked Sunday lunch for three people. Cauliflower soup was very tasty. The mains were a huge disappointment. My vegetarian mushroom dish was indescribable! Three balls of what seemed like rice in breadcrumbs, with a tiny amount of tomato sauce round the outside, with two slices of mushroom in it. The other two diners had roast beef. Both plates were cold, as was the food. We weren't sure whether the potatoes were boiled or roasted, but either way, they were also cold. We ordered puddings...one ice cream, one Elton mess and one fruit salad. I couldn't believe how long we had to wait! Ok, someone (the manager?) apologised for the delay, and blamed it on lots of people having afternoon tea?? But come on...three cold desserts can't be that difficult to throw together and serve, surely? We've had afternoon tea here in the past, but, sorry, we won't be rushing back. The two stars I've given are for the pleasant enthusiastic young staff

Had a lovely meal here with nice surroundings including the lovely comfortable couches and chairs in the bar area of the restaurant
Can sit in or out
Nice views of the garden
Specials served on several night and Sunday lunch
We were here as staying overnight but this would be a ice p,ace to drop in for lunch or dinner
Selection of smaller plates as well as traditional mains and offers set price for 2 or 3 courses only weird thing was serving the pork pie on my ploughman plate hot!!
Ruined the pastry and the jelly which I was looking forward to not having had one in the UK for a very long time!
Beers on tap good selection
Wines by the glass
Great service very friendly and welcoming
Would come back

I visited the Walled Garden with my family mid July, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Some of our party ate from the Garden menu, great value at £19.95 for 3 courses. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others.
