having visited Spoons for dinner we were going back to the car when we heard the music from the woolpack.
We decided to pile in and take a better 'listen'. we were not disappointed!
Live music for free?? too good to be true and you probably expect the music to be rubbish... nah, top notch stuff!
My advice .. get yourself there, you're missing a treat!

This pub is Glastonbury indoors, great music but unfortunately the dirt aswell. The live bands are great, the atmosphere is great but definitely not the place for a quiet night out. This is fundamentally students pub. If you want to take out the missus and not hear her drone on then this is the place because once the music starts you will not here a thing! This is a back to basic pub but if you want a good night for real music then this is for you.

Although the name of this pub conjures up images of a sedate country style pub but once inside you are left in no doubt that your in a proper lively pub with an eclectic mix of heavy metal music and cheesy 90's music but some how it all works well.
We were here late on a Saturday night and this pub was just starting to get busy ,we ordered some bottles of beer and just chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub.
The music was loud but not overpowering and the beers freezing cold and we had an absolutely fantastic time in here before we moved on.
The Woolpack pub is really easy to locate on Market Place in an area teeming with pubs ,bars and restaurants and close to the Premier Inn Central ( High Fishergate Doncaster) .
Not sure on the opening hours but we were here till early hours Saturday morning.

Went to see a few bands with my nephew. The pub had hardly any ale with John Smiths (not gand pulled) and Guinness being the only 2, the rest being lager and I think 1 cider. The only bottles available were also Budweiser. Adding to that later on in the evening the John Smith plus most of the other drink had run out. It could be a good pub with some money spent on it and a proper selection of beers. Not for me though.

As our race club was staying in The Premier Inn this pub wasn't to far from our hotel so it was always odds on we would visit here and as it happened we went both Friday and Saturday night.
The pub exterior is a very traditional pub but once inside the pub is a modern disco style pub with coloured strobe lights, modern couch seating and a decent serving bar.
The drinks range here is eclectic to say the least and we sampled beers from real ale such as Wells Bombardier and Hophouse 13 Lager from Guinness Brewery to bottles of WKD in several colours and flavours.
On both visits this pub was busy with great music keeping the pub jumping.
We had two cracking nights in here and it was so good just being a minute or two from our hotel.
Very easy to locate on Market Place an area of Doncaster with some great pubs and bars.
This is a seriously late bar and on our visits we were here till nearing 3am.
a great pub and well worth checking out if your in the area.
