Owner description: The Museum of Science and Industry sits in the heart of Manchester, the world's first industrial city. It houses the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station and the world's first railway warehouse from 1830, which are located at the end of the museum site. On a visit to the museum, you will see amazing objects and learn about the men and women whose ideas changed the world forever. Daily demonstrations bring the museum's world class collection of textile and industrial machinery to life. There are interactive exhibits to explore and a regular programme of changing exhibitions to enjoy.

I took my mum and dad to the museum and we had a lovely time! Dad particularly enjoyed the steam engines and machinery, recognising things he had worked with in his career! My mum loved the textiles display and the information about textile mills etc. There were quite a lot of school children when we visited. This was actually fine most of the time. My Dad has a brain injury and struggles with noise and busy places so we tried to be in the areas which were not so busy. The only areas we had difficulty were in the main entrance area when there were lots of children and an assistant trying to explain about the Tim Peaks display. Fascinating but very noisy!

Had great fun there, and the current display of Tim Peak’s space capsule is a bonus! Kids loved it, time well spent.

MOSI never fails to impress. This is a great day out for all ages and interests. We attended with my 4 year old daughter who thoroughly enjoyed the interactive experiments and exploring times gone by. There is lots to see and do here you can spend as little or as much time as you want here. We dined in the on site cafe and found it to be very reasonable in price with speedy service.

Fab museum with lots of hands on exhibits. The Experiment area has loads for children to see and try. It's always been a great place to go for a free day out indoors when the Manchester weather isn't so good (most of the time. Haha) but sadly, at 11 and 9 years old I think they've now outgrown it. Definitely a must visit for any with toddlers To approx 8 year old children.

Quite interesting trip. Definitely better shaped for kids rather than adults...a bit too focused on textiles in my opinion
