Got a good offer with both flight and this hotel, so booking this hotel was a coincidence. But after checking out the hotel my expectations was high.

Check-in was efficient, and I even got a warm chocolate cookie at check-in. Got a room at second floor. The room was nice, clean and pretty big, and the bathroom one of the better I have seen at hotels. Every room at this hotel has an iMac (!) which is used for both television and as a computer. Very good!

Breakfast was included - a good range of food and drinks.

One little "hatch" - my room was close to an elevator or something that made a lot of noise a couple of times.

Room Tip: Some noise from levels below on second floor.

I just love this hotel! I have stayed here a number of time, both wen the Mint Hotel and now when the Doubletree and since it has become the Doubletree it is much better! The check in is really great and the cookies that are given on reception are great. Free wifi is a real bonus and the rooms are both comfortable and very quiet. I love the fact that as a HHonors member you get free breakfast and also a free drink in bar. Breakfast is high quality and great.

This hotel is really good value and in a great location. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Get a high floor but all rooms are quiet and have great views

2 mins from the train station & 5 mins from the busy city centre, this is a hotel in a cracking location

Hotel amenities are as you expect, great bar/restaurant, well equipped hotel gym & the rooms are very comfy

Bar prices are a little expense (£4.70 for a pint of lager) but to be expected I suppose

Great select for buffet breakfast which can be taken away if your running late for the train etc & all round a very easy, pleasant stay

Review of a Saturday night stay in January, booked with breakfast for around £90.

We arrived early, around 12.30pm. The very efficient and friendly check in staff told me our room was ready so we were able to check in early. The weather that weekend was snowy so bookings may have been down from normal levels, but it was still pleasing to be able to check in before 3pm. The car park isn't particularly well sign posted, it's along the side of the hotel when facing towards Piccadilly station and situated under the hotel itself. Parking costs were £15 for an
overnight stay. The lift in the car park goes straight to the floors of the rooms, so you do not need to go back to reception.

The room was well equipped, as you would imagine for a Hilton. The iMac TV had free Sky Sports channels, but no movies and I don't think there was a PPV system although I didn't check. Our room (542) was quiet and comfy, and of a reasonable size. It is a fairly anonymous hotel, which is great for privacy but if you're looking for a interestingly decorated boutique hotel, the corporate decor and business feel probably won't inspire you.

The shower had good pressure and the Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries smelled great, although there was no bath. There was a fridge, with complimentary water and a safe. There was no minibar and no hairdryer in the room - I think this was an error as when I called reception, one was delivered to the room within 5 minutes. The wifi was free, and didn't require a password.

The breakfast was from 7.30-10.30am, and was of a good quality. Cooked items included bacon, sausages, scrambled egg, beans, hash browns etc and there was a choice of cold meats, cereals and fruit. I believe you could order items they did not have displayed such as cafe latte or omelettes.

Overall a really enjoyable stay in a trusted brand and I would definitely stay in this hotel again. It is particularly well located for guests travelling from Piccadilly train station.

I truly enjoyed our stay in this hotel, it was just a few minutes walk from the shopping center and about two minutes walk to the nearest tram and bus station. We went for three days to watch a football match and we found the location very good to get a tram or bus to the stadium, but also in the evening it allowed us to enjoy some walks in the center! The breakfast was excellent and the rooms were comfortable and very clean!!! The staff were very helpful also!!
