“Not too shabby.”
Reviewed 30 April 2012

My first Mercure hotel, the building was a little older, but then again the entire place is old! The room was neatly decorated with a good sized bathroom. The bed was comfortable enough as well. The breakfast on the top floor was responsible for some of great views, and one of the best photos from my entire vacation in Europe. I walked everywhere around Strasbourg, literally spent an entire day walking around. Parc l'Orangerie was great to walk around in, with a good sized Zoo with all sorts of animals. Old Strasbourg is full of tourists thanks to it's very old architecture. Stop by one of the restaurants and order a plate of Spaetzle, it was really good. If you plan ahead of time, it is also possible to go to the Kronenbourg brewery for a tour. I sadly arrived on a weekend.

We have stayed here for two nights and very much enjoyed everything about the hotel. Its location is within a short walking distance of all the attractions on the island/old town/cathedral/Petit France etc. They have an underground parking garage. The breakfast buffet is decent with good selection of hot and cold foods. On two occasions we asked the front desk for recommendations on local restaurants and both times we had an awesome experience. Our room was clean and tidy with a functioning wife. The elevator is timely so no waits. If you are traveling to Strasbourg check this place out.

I stayed at this hotel for business and my visit was flawless.

The room was clean, comfortable, modern and of a quite big. The double bed was also very comfortable and I had three nights of very good sleep. The bathroom was also of a decent size and was very clean.

The staff were incredibly polite and helpful and spoke English in addition to French. Breakfast was very pleasant with a wide range of foods to choose from. Unlike many other hotel breakfast buffets, the quality of the food available was good. I also ordered a room-service meal which was of a high quality and arrived very promptly.

The location was reasonably central within Strasbourg, although the road leading up to the hotel was closed and therefore required a slight diversion around-the-block to reach it. Nonetheless, Strasbourg's excellent tram system makes access via the nearest stop (Homme de Fer) very easy.

In short, if this hotel is within your price range, I strongly recommend it.

This is my favourite hotel for business travel - sophisticated service from friendly, professional staff.
Rooms are well appointed if, by modern standards, a little on the small side. However the restaurant and bar are delightful at any time and the location is great for exploring the city-centre of Strasbourg.

I stayed at Mercure Strasbourg Centre in summer 2008 with a large group of friends. I have only good memories of the hotel.
What I loved most about it – was the location. It is close to railway station, to all the downtown sightseeing places, restaurants and nightlife.
The hotel was also very clean.
I recollect that we had some issues with business center. It was basically one PC. Other than that – I have no recollections of any negative experience with the hotel.

This motel was a bit dated. The furnishings appeared to be from IKEA...very basic. The room smelled of cigarette smoke...as did the linens. In defense of the motel, we were a part of a larger group who was placed here when our Rhine River cruise was suddenly aborted because of low river water. The location was excellent...walking distance to the old section. However, there was no bars close by or evening entertainment. Breakfast was good; the room was being renovated, so it was hard to judge the space. The variety and quality were very good. The front desk was accomdating...giving me a converter without hesitation. I may consider staying here again. It is connected to a very lovely motel.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the courtyard and the very lovely hotel next door. (less trafficy noise)

I got to stay one night in this hotel while in the area for work. Overall this place was really nice. The rooms were clean and relatively well equipment, with the exception of an iron and ironing board. The hotel is located nicely in the center of the city but it's also quiet; I couldn't hear traffic or anything at night. Standard breakfast as well that was pretty good.
