Le Bouclier d'Or is a small and charming hotel in the midst of Strasbourg's Petite France. The staff is extremely pleasant from the front desk to housekeeping. Breakfast is well worth the price as the buffet table is full of meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit, eggs, and various complements. Our room was well-furnished and looked out onto the small pedestrian street. Strasbourg is a charming city and this hotel certainly does its part to make your stay a wonderful experience.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Bouclier d'Or and highly recommend it. Rooms were comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful, massages were excellent after our long flight from the US, and the location in Strasbourg can't be beat.

Beautiful hotel, well situated in town, helpful staff with 5 star service! Loved watching the movie they had playing in the lounge area of the remarkable restoration they did on the hotel! Breakfast was very nice with a large selection and courteous and attentive staff! Would highly recommend this hotel!

We have stayed there twice (room 6). Location is ideal if you want to walk through the city. Staff was nice and it was easy to ask for the same room for our second visit. Room is spacious and quiet. Bed quality is very nice.
We have not tried the restaurant or the bar.

This is a very beautiful property in the old city with the perfect location. Public rooms are right out of a museum. The entire place is beautiful. This carries over to the bedrooms and bathrooms which are large and very attractive as well.
The hotel does not warrant an excellent because the service is not good for a hotel in this class. Breakfast is good but not great. There was rarely anyone at the check in desk and this is a problem if you need something. If something is broken it is not fixed. The bathroom sinks did not drain well. For the rates charged service should be impeccable. We enjoyed our stay but would not return. I originally wanted the Sofitel but our agent told us to stay here. After seeing the Sofitel my recommendation would be its McGallery brand here which is this hotel’s main competitor.
