We booked here, based on the TA reviews we read. When we arrived, we liked the location and ambience. Staff were attentive, although we had a few complications with language. Our problem, not theirs, as we don’t speak French.
However, we did reach agreement on the finish we needed with our mains; which were duck and lamb dishes, where we asked for medium to well done respectively. So it was very disappointing to receive dishes that were very rare and rare respectively.
Frustratingly, our lack of language skills meant we could not address the matter, so we just ate what we could. It meant quite a lot of the meals were left on our plates, but that elicited no reaction from the server when they cleared the table.
On the other hand, the wines were good and other courses presented well.
The key takeout is probably for future diners to be sure they are comfortable in ordering meat dishes clearly in French
