“Excellent boutique hotel in the heart of Bordeaux”
Reviewed 20 September 2011

Only stayed there for a night and couldn't fault it. Friendly welcome, beautiful apartment (with mini kitchenette), clean, contemporary and great location. Would definitely go back for a long weekend.

Though we arrived by taxi from the train station (for about 12 euro) the hotel is <100m from a tram stop and adjoins the historic centre and about 5 minutes walk from the main shopping street. You'd hardly know the hotel was there - a door opens onto a courtyard and small reception area, with a helpful staff member who takes you to a room located on one of 3 sides of the quadrangle. Ours was a room on the 2nd floor that slept 4 (2 via a sofa bed, described by my kids though as very uncomfortable). Rooms are in modern design with kitchenette area, high stools and eating bar, IKEA-style furnishing. Though the section of the hotel where breakfast is served does have a very small lift, be aware our room was accessible by steep stairs only; the pervasive smell of the drains was the only real downside . No airconditioning, though a fan is provided. The breakfast room is glorious - including a giant feathered pendant light which shouldn't fit in but somehow does. You get fresh natural yogurt, a small glass of fresh fruit, a great selection of breads and pastries, juice, good coffee/tea selection and bacon/egg on request. Overall, perhaps only 3.5 stars but the hotel is good value, well located and has personality.

We found this hotel last minute and we weren't disappointed. The name is a little misleading as it t felt more like an apartment than a hotel room. The outside was very discreet with a simple but elegant sign outside and after being buzzed in it leads into a lovely little courtyard. All very promising! It wasn't buzzing with staff but one very helpful lady who showed us to our fantastic room! We had our own little kitchen and it was decorated in a simple modern way. I'm not sure how long it has been open for, it seemed brand new and was very clean. We did end up with twin beds pushed together rather than a double bed, but that was fine. Also despite having lots of great things such as an iron, cooker, big fridge they forgot a few basics such as a kettle and a hairdryer, but who cares! It's a great place in a fab location, with a big cathedral at the end of the road. Fab.

Arrived at hotel in Bordeaux and first impression was very nice , then we had a problem with the free wifi , we couldn't connect 1 laptop or 2 iPhones to it , and where told "it must be a fault with you devices " these same devices have been fine in another location in France and other locations in Bordeaux! Then
my first shower resulted in a loose heavy glass shelf landing on my
foot ! ,when looking at the hotels general facilities it Stated Air conditioning this is not the case ,
Also in our apartment there was no mini bar , there was no coffee cups , we were told to drink out of bowls as this is the 'French Way' ! there
was also no litter bin,
clothes hangers and hair dryer,
these were rectified the next day but as we where only staying for two nights and the reception closed at 5/6pm and wasn't open at 10pm as we went out , these things didn't really improve our stay as they arrived to late.
The room was clean and new but very basic , once the furniture tires with time this property will only have it's location going for it !
