“Bad value, bad tapas”

While this bar is in an excellent location for a sundowner, we found it to be pretty disappointing. We were looking for some light food an a drink, but when we got there it took ages to even be brought a menu. The waiter then told us that several items were unavailable, after which it was another long wait for anyone to take our order. Finally we ordered a large tapas selection between two, but were told that was off too, so we ordered two small ones. When this arrived we were brought two plates with 4 items on each, all different - odd, if the large platter was off. However the tapas was really weak, all cold, one item was a tiny sandwich and two were mayo-soaked vegetables on a slice of bread. This simply wasn't worth the price - over €10 for each plate. Wouldn't go back.

Went here on our second time to Biarritz and its still as good! It has a great location overlooking the Port Vieux and is great value for money!
My wife had the Ocean Salade, which comprised of prawns, smoked salmon, avocado, grapefruit, tomatoes and lettuce leaves, and she said it was one of the nicest salads she had ever eaten - praise indeed!
I had the pork filet mignon with frites and salad and it was delicious and I can't recommend it enough!
Washed down with a litre of their home made Sangria - what a lunch!
This place doesn't look like much, propped on the cliffs, but is really well worth the visit!
It's not very big and most certainly isn't fancy, but the food is great and you have to try it out!

This is a small, unpretentious place in the old port of Biarritz. It looks like a shack, but you must go. We had the rump steak and frites, which was outstanding. Generous portion, cooked to perfection, beautifully seasoned with enough to bring out the flavour of the meat without overpowering it.

They have a fabulous rice pudding dessert, which, being a Brit, was irresistible to me.

And the view across the old port and the rocks to the Virgin on the rock (a statue, guys...) was wonderful, perfect position for the sunset. Try and get a table outside up on the rocks themselves, where you have an unobstructed view.

And it was terrific value to boot. Go there and enjoy!
