Over very many years I and my wife have stayed in this hotel, on route to Spain and Portugal and returning.
Our last stop in June 2016 was an eye opener. The hotel itself is in need of a face, the rooms are clean and comfortable. As we have in the pasted, we ate in the restaurant.
We have enjoyed this many times however this time was not good. It was clear if you were from the UK you would be served small portions compared to the French around us.............no big problem I guess but when I order Duck I expect to get Duck and not some other meat tasting, texture and smelling unlike Duck. In my view it was some kind of beef. The staff were reasonable when I challenged this but I am convinced the chef was taking the Michael. I have reported this to Hotels.com who I booked with but a disappointed result. I expected them to pass the information directly to the heads of Campanile and to have a full investigation. I take the view as a seasoned traveller that I will not be the only person who has come across this issue here.More
