The Hotel Alcyon was exactly what we wanted - a charming B&B, nicely furnished, in a good location. It reminded us of boutique hotels in San Francisco. We rented two rooms for 3 of us and both were very nice. We like sleeping with the windows open but one night we had a birthday group across the street and closed the windows. They must be of the best quality because we couldn't hear a thing. The women who work there were exceptionally helpful. Christina helped us find great restaurants by directing us to a hip, fun, street, the rue des Halles. The breakfast was tasty, the air conditioning was fine and the parking wasn't too difficult to find. We found the prices to be very affordable and reasonable for the size of the rooms and amenities.

Room Tip: Either side of the hotel is good for room location.

A group of us stayed at the Alcyon to attend a wedding. Lovely little hotel. I shared a room with a friend, we did book a twin but when we arrived it was a double bed, on our way out we talked to reception and by the time we were back from dinner they split the beds. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach.

Wifi was unreliable, but decent if you are looking something up online (not suitable for working/uploading photos)

The staff are wonderful, very helpful and available. My friend and I had erratic times leaving our room, the cleaning lady was devastated to not have a schedule, so we did have to ask for towels on one occasion. The 2 sisters that run the hotel are so lovely and helpful.

Decent sized room for two females with luggage and beauty products, bathroom was good, plenty storage and the water pressure was great. Our room was slightly noisy in the mornings once the local businesses started up but nothing that disturbed a sleep in too much.

I would return! Lost a mark due to the wifi.

+location - not beach side but a short walk
+small feel
+good sized bath for euro/france standard
+decent size room

-wifi consistently slow...not reliable for much but checking email
-bed is okay quality but bedding and pillows not great

breakfast a bit "minimalist" but good quality and all one need to start the day. not the best boutique hotel in the world but would i stay again? sure.

This small hotel is well situated near the main beach in Biarritz. The staff are very helpful and the breakfast good. I would have rated it more highly, but for the amenity of our room. The bathroom was tiny and the bed adequate, but we have had better on our travels. Make sure you communicate directly with the hotel when booking to ensure the best outcome.

The hotel is quite small, located in a road off the main road but very close to the town center. The hotel does not have any parking, but the next public garage is just 200m away .... if you are lucky to get a parking lot .... not easy in high season. The room was ok, size was not very big. But the bathroom was very tiny, but all was clean and well equipped. They do have a lift, which is a plus.

The breakfast room was very nice, light and the breakfast was very nice with fresh products too.The room was air-conditioned. So all in all not the best hotel, but cosy and with the close distance a great choice.

We would choose it again.
