Within the ‘Ville Close’ of the harbour fortifications there are lots of cafes, bars and restaurants. What you would like to find - a Breton creperie with character and delicious food, is not as easy to find.
The Creperie Le Pennti is just of the central square at 6 Place Saint Guenole. It has an attractive Breton stone cottage exterior, has an equally cottagey interior and on sunny days a lovely little courtyard garden with tables and chairs.
Our galettes and crepes were delicious and we washed them down with local cider from traditional Breton ceramic cups. 2 savoury galettes, a dessert crepe and a half pichet/jug of cider came to €23.30. Delicious food at a good value price.

A small, lovely place with a garden and partially open area at the back. Service could have been friendlier, but I understand that in full tourist season things are busy. We tasted both savory galettes and sweet crepes. I found the sweet ones to be better than the savory The galette itself was excellent but the cheese filling was not properly warmed up to a melting consistency. The crepe with apples and salted butter caramel was scrumptious.

The creperie opens sharp at 12:00hrs.

Inside is very nice with an interesting seating area out at the back which is not too hot and has interesting plants and decoration.

The service was very good and quite a wide range of crepes, all of which were very good.

A good choice if you want a crepe and are in that area of town.

Although we visit the Ville Close in Concarneau every summer we had never eaten Crepes in that , somewhat crowded , tourist area .
We decided to have a try this year and it was a miss .
Sure the Pennti ( =small house in britton language ) looks nice and cozy , and while the very small terrace on the street is noisy , the larger one at the back is attractive and peaceful ( unless your neighbours are a pain in the neck) .
Service was nice and smiling , and reasonably efficient ; although they had some trouble with the Crepes Flambees which did not burn properly .
But the crepes are not up to Brittany tradition .
The savoury ones were acceptable while the sweet ones were below expectation : if they use butter, it is not a good one; the lemon crepe han no lemon taste ; the fmabees ended cold because they had to fight to light them .
Prices , as in all stores in the Ville Close are higher than downtown ( about 20% more)
There are better " creperies " in Concarneau .
