A nice walk through the beach brings you to the Fort, but when you will return keep an eye to the see, Its possible that the see its high and you have to walk rough the water. In summer after 19 hours you get wet :-)

We decided to pay and go inside to see the Fort. There is a ton of stuff to see, but it is impressive none the less and a worthwhile place to visit if you are there.

It was raining like mad, we were wet and miserable, and Fort National offered little relief. The interior of the blockhouse looked as if it might be interesting, but something tells me that wasn't part of the experience. A pity, because the rest of the fort, though historical, didn't encourage hanging around when you were cold and soggy.

There isn't a lot here but it is definitely worth a visit. it can be accessed at any tide level but definitely plan to get feet wet if tide it higher. Allow about 30-40 min. A small entrance fee 6euros is charged and you are given a pamphlet with the history of the fort. Pretty interesting to read but even children will enjoy wandering around a real fort.

There really is nothing inside that you can't see from outside. Takes 20 mins to wander around slowly.
