A wonderful walk through Auxerre past three cathedrals saw us find this wonderful little restaurant.

The hosts were wonderful and most accommodating as our French is poor at best. The food is really authentic and I loved the menu. Shame no duck or fois gras but that’s everywhere right?

Lovely experience, three courses for four with wine for 150€ I thought was reasonable. Thanks L’Accroche!!!!

Thank Darren S

I would highly recommend this restaurant. It's a pretty building with some outside space (off a quiet street). The service was excellent and booking a table via Facebook was very easy.

The food is really delicious and creative. We enjoyed a chevre creme brulee and a savoury cheesecake, both of which were really well executed. The main course were also tasty. The house wine was reasonably priced and enjoyable.

The restaurant is located in the center of Auxerre, one can see the old wooden beams which are seemingly very old indeed.
The menu was rather small with a selection of around 5-6 entrees, same amount of main dishes and desserts.
There were many terrines and mousse on the appetiser list, but we opted for a Gaspacho and a very I retesting Dijon mustard ice cream with Sauce anglaise. It was very unusual but had a interesting taste.
The main dishes consisted of leg of rabbit, which could have been a bit tastier, a beautiful tart - vegetarian style, and a not so good lamb with a breadcrumb and cheese topping.
For dessert ( we were rather full), we only tried the Creme Brule, which was outstanding. Also all the other desserts, served on other tables looked fantastic.
All in all a good meal, accompanied by a lovely bottle of Irancy Pinot Noir.

This restaurant is relatively new. The couple who run it and their chef clearly have not, as chef Ramsey would say "lost their passion". The food is all made on site even the bread. The plates are not hot from the microwave. Everything is perfect.
No pretense, only quality.

We stopped in to book a table of six for Saturday night. On arrival, we found our wonderful host had gone to the trouble of translating, and printing menus just for us. The food is rustic, and tasty - just as French cooking should be. Portion sizes are generous, and prices very reasonable. Entrees were a choice of different pates and terrines, with mains of duck, osso bucco, trout, pork shoulder, and five different desserts, including the delectable lemon tart. The menu changes daily, according to what is available. You do need to book, as there are only about 30 covers.
