We traveled with a small group of friends: three couples and a single in September. One of our members suggested Beaune and I'm so glad he did. This turned out to be a highlight of our trip and we had many wonderful experiences in our three-week travels through France. Hotel de la Paix was easy to find. We did have a TomTom GPS with a downloaded France map. There was secure parking. Our room was spacious and overlooked the street. It was not noisy. The room was clean and well-decorated. In fact it looked freshly decorated to us. The bathroom was good sized and clean. We checked in and then explored the town on foot. There were places in the town that we felt like we'd just entered some old movie scene, that hollywood could film a great movie here. We loved the charm of the community and of the hotel. The staff was warm and welcoming and made sure that we liked our rooms. We only stayed one night and therefore had one dinner meal in the center of town which we enjoyed. We had no trouble conversing and most people tried to speak English and we tried to speak French. They were more successful with the English than we were with their language. The pastries are exceptional throughout France. My husband and I were very pleased with this room. The only downside was the price. We stayed at other small hotels/b&b's in France that were less than this hotel per night. At 125 euros, it sounded good, but ended up closer to $175-$200 U.S. when all was said and done (without breakfast but with parking). The breakfast price would have been a bit more. We felt no need to have breakfast on site when there are so many wonderful restaurants, cafes and pastry shops within walking distance to choose from. We like to walk and explore on foot and personally, I do feel that Beaune should be explored this way. It was a wonderful surprise and a great experience. I would go back and stay here again!

The best value of this hotel is a location- very close to the city centre and easy access by car. A room -a single room- was nice but rather average. Decoration was ordinary. The bathroom was nice at a glance but probably renovated long time ago. If you don't have any other option you can stay here mainly because of the location.

We very much enjoyed out stay at Hotel de la Paix. The staff was great, English speaking, very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. Location was convenient, easy walking distance from the train station. We would stay here again on a return to Beaune.

We were pleased with this hotel. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The room was very nice. We had some minor issues with small maintenance things like the shower door continually falling off the track but nothing we couldn't take care of ourselves. The wifi was reliable. It is a little removed from the center of town but nothing unreasonable.

We stayed one night at this hotel on our way South from Paris. We had a family room with one double bed downstairs and two singles on an upper level. Bathroom was a bit dated but clean. Free secure parking and free Internet access. The hotel is decorated tastefully and is welcoming and charming. The lounge area was very inviting and tastings of the local wines were available. We did not have breakfast at the hotel so I cannot comment on it except to say that the price is 14 euro per person. We strolled a few metres down the road to a nearby restaurant for a much cheaper breakfast, about 6 euro per person. The hotel is on the outer edge of the ring road round the old part of the town, so easy walking distance to the centre, maybe 5 minutes.

Spent one night at this hotel during tour of Cote d'Or wineries. Staff were friendly and very efficienty. Room was ready, despite early arrival and plenty of space in the secure car park. Room was spacious and well appointed...one of the best we found in small town France. Breakfast buffet was very tasty and the staff kept the food (pastries, cheese, eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruit, jam, etc.) as well as the coffee/juice fresh and full.

The hotel is just outside the main city wall and easy walking distance to all sites. Also easy to park if you are driving as they have an enclosed, secure courtyard for parking.

HIghly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel de la Paix early in September with our dog for one night on our journey down to the South of France.
Right from the off, email replies to my enquiries for availability were swiftly and politely dealt with, making me assured that this would be a good place to stay in Beaune. I had pre-booked parking, therefore was aware of the €6 charge for this as well as an additional charge of €12 for our dog. The hotel is genuinely dog friendly too.
I thought €119 for a Confort Room with balcony was reasonable value for the hotel's location, just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Beaune. The balcony, overlooking the car park, was welcome additional space to the room, which was very compact, but smartly decorated and spotlessly clean - as was the modern bathroom (shower only).
There is a very large Casino supermarket 2 minutes walk towards the town centre on the opposite side of the road, which proved to be extremely handy, and not overly expensive.
Beaune itself is absolutely stunning and we could have happily spent more time there. We ate at L'Ecusson on Friday evening: a real treat, fabulous food, lovely (relatively expensive) wine list and relaxed service, however, there are so many stunning restaurants to choose from that you're really spoilt for choice, just be sure to book ahead at the weekend.
A continental breakfast at the hotel is €14.00, however, be careful what you take: I'd helped myself to the buffet set up on a long table in the dining room, but took a croissant from a basket on my table up to my husband only to discover it cost an eye-watering additional €6! For comparison, a croissant at a street cafe in Beaune's centre is around €1!
On taking my dog for a walk early Saturday morning, I was treated to wandering around the market as it was being set up, overtaking the whole of the town centre. It was selling everything from honey to model cars. A lovely enhancing experience.
All in all a great stay at a small family run hotel. Do I recommend it? Absolutely!

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies / terrace provide welcome additional space.
