“Superb stay”
Reviewed July 26, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Having just spent a wonderful week in Helen's gite in Bligny, we have no hesitation in writing a very supportive review. It was one of the best we have ever stayed in: very well equpped kitchen; lovely location within easy walking distance of the town's main square; 2 spacious bedrooms; and a lovely homely feel to its main room and furnishings.
Helen made us feel very welcome and provided good documentation to the region.
Thanks again for a wonderful stay. Very highly reommended.

“Comfortable, convenient, charming.”
Reviewed May 28, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Great location in small village, just a hop step and a jump to the heart of the Côte D'Or. Everything works perfectly and the hosts are totally charming and extremely attentive (thanks for the help finding my wallet, Helen). Don't forget the Wednesday market in the village square. Friendly neighbours too.

“Beautiful House”
Reviewed May 12, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We stayed for a week to discover the Burgundy region and had a fantastic stay. The house is a beautiful character property with exposed beams, tiled and wooden floors and a lovely log burner. Both bedrooms are a very good size and the kitchen and bathrooms are clean and spacious. The owners, Helen and Kees, couldn't do enough to ensure we made the most of our stay. The welcome pack of wine, water, milk, bread, cheese, butter and biscuits (amongst other things) were a nice touch. When I asked my wife what was the highlight of our stay in Burgundy, she said "the house"! High praise indeed when the area is so wonderful.

“Excellent Homely Base in Burgundy”
Reviewed October 28, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Les Rosiers is located in a small village of 860 residents, Bligny-sur-Ouche, a convenient 20 minutes drive from Beaune, the 'wine capital' of Burgundy. For a couple, two couples or a family this is an ideal base for a week or so from which to explore the Burgundy region. The house has been updated internally, tastefully and thoughtfully furnished as a comfortable holiday home with all the amenities we needed. The bed in the main bedroom was most comfortable. There is a reasonable sized Maxi supermarket on the edge of the village. The owner Helen, although away at the time, was most helpful and went out of her way to ensure everything went smoothy for us, arranging for a friend to welcome us. The welcome pack was a surprise treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les Rosiers. and highly recommend it and the village of Bligny, as well as nearby Beaune. Note: Pricing is in GBP.

A wonderfully friendly welcome from Helen. The basket of goodies much appreciated. A very well equipped village house with a sunny terrace. Several good walks from the village itself offering beautiful views. Overall a very relaxing holiday.

“A very Comfortable, spotlessly clean, welcoming house in small village convenient for surrounding area.”
Reviewed August 17, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This is a beautiful little house which is well equipped for your stay - added to by a warm personal welcome from the owner and a welcome pack of cheese and wine and other items to start your holiday. The house is spotlessly clean and decorated in lovely French/British style - a pleasure to be in with English TV if wanted. The outside space is limited so would not suit children requiring running around area but the terrace is beautiful for couples or older children and provides a lovely spot to watch the comings and goings of the village. Bligny is a gem with just enough - bar with a friendly bunch of locals and
patron - supermarket and wine degustation and little steam train and Boulanger and small gift shop and a hotel and a bank etc. Not huge but enough and so so charming. Beaune is 20 mins in the car, Nuits st George is close by too as well as several other charming places to visit. Dijon is reachable easily and challon sur soane also. We had a fabulous week here and would recommend it to others who want a quiet place with the option of travelling into the hustle and bustle.

“Charming roomy house in a great spot for exploring the region”

Can't add a lot to the previous reviews. The house is great & lots of room for 4 people with 2 big double rooms. The welcome basket was great with exactly the things you want & helen also has maps & lots of tourist info waiting for you.
The house is equipped with everything you could want & is a really comfortable house to live in. Also there are lots of the useful bits & pieces provided, like oil & spices, that are so useful. TV is English which we enjoyed after a no. of months travelling in Europe but just be aware that there isn't French TV. Bed was v comfortable & although on a road was actually v quiet & we slept v well. WiFi good downstairs but not great in the main bedroom.
Great base for exploring, with Djion an easy & lovely drive of about 45 mins & Beaune about 15 mins (provided current road works are completed). Both towns are really well worth at least a day trip though we were lucky to have the luxury of a few days in each. They have some good museums (which are free in djion), lovely old buildings from multip!e eras, great eateries & caves... Lots of pretty towns to visit on day trips, some wonderful abbeys, châteaux, the wine route down the Côte d'or... Plenty to keep one amused. We also enjoyed walking and running in the area, with lots of paths in the countryside, in the woods, along the river, by the canal, etc. Be a great place for cycling but we didn't have bikes unfortunately.
We really enjoyed our 8 nights there & highly recommend Les Rosiers. We hope to return sometime. Thanks Helen.

Management Response
23 Jul 2014
We are happy to report that the roadworks remarked upon will be finished this week,in line with the predicted duration of two weeks.
The ease of booking was slightly compromised due to the fact that three currencies were involved, with the guest wanting to ensure that bank charges were kept as low as possible. However,we are very happy that the booking went through smoothly, and that the guest appears to have had a really enjoyable holiday.
