My Husband and I have just returned from a long weekend with friends staying at this beautiful hotel in Saulieu. The hotel is extremely charming, beautifully maintained and the staff are very welcoming. We stayed in room 28 which is a suite and we felt well worth the money. There were 2 bath/shower rooms, 2 flatscreen TVs (one in the lounge area) showing French channels and lots of cozy lighting in the room. It overlooked the gardens. The food in the Restaurant was wonderful, tasty and appetising. We have already booked again for next year.

We stayed for three nights in a "charme" room overlooking the garden. We were welcomed by a very friendly receptionist speaking both French and English. The room was of a decent size with a large bathroom. We were only missing a shower curtain to not change the bathroom into a pool. We were slightly disappointed to see that the swimming pool was not yet opened although the weather was ideally suited for swimming. The breakfast was quite basic; bread, croissants, ham, cheese, jam, cornflakes, yoghurt and fruit. We also had dinner in the restaurant of the hotel one night. We chose the three course menu, which was very delicious and the restaurant service was excellent. This hotel is ideally located to explore Burgundy (Beaune, Vézelay, Morvan natural parc, Autun, Canal du Bourgogne, ...).

This warm and comfortable hotel combines real class with sensible prices for both the rooms and the food in the restaurant. It is all very tasteful, a result of this former convent now being a family-run hotel. Saulieu is a charming old town with a delightful museum of Francois Pompon's sculptures, some of which appear round the town too. Well worth a visit.

We have just enjoyed a long weekend in Saulieu staying at this beautiful Hotel. We had a Charme Chambre overlooking the garden at the rear of the Hotel. The room was lovely, tastefully decorated and clean with a large flat screen TV and walk-in shower. The Hotel is excellently maintained. We ate there 2 evenings, once from the A La Carte menu and the other evening having the 39 Euro four course dinner. On both occasions they treated us with free tasters-a lovely touch. We had breakfast each day choosing from lovely breads, fruit, ham, cheese, croissants and warm drinks served in large bowls. The food is truly fabulous. The staff were friendly with everyone acknowledging you but they were not overbearing. I really cannot fault this Hotel and will definitely return.

Made our way to Saulieu to this hotel, first week in September.
The Reception by the gentleman who may have been the owner, was very good, he took great care in explaining where everything was and how everything worked, where to park the car etc.
There is a small courtyard to the side of the hotel, but the parking in this sleepy town is very safe.
The rooms are plain, traditionally furnished, very clean and very good value for the price.
Breakfast was very good, with plenty to eat.
The restaurant was excellent, I think it should have the stars, rather than the one across the road.
we opted for the "a la carte", menu as my wife never finds the combinations to suit her on the fixed price ones, of which there are two approx 30 euros and 40 euros excluding wine.
Wine list is good typical Burgundian list of Pinot Noir, starting about the 30 euros and up...
Food was very good, so was the wine at 39 euros.
Went for a walk to digest the large meal, Saulieu is like Sleepy Hollow! not a lot to do here, but very pretty town, with some beautiful architecture.
Would go back when in the area.

Room Tip: One of the rooms overlooking the garden and pool.
