We looked for somewhere to eat while staying across the road at Relais Bernard Loiseau and came across this little gem. We had not made any bookings for the evening and hoped to find something typically "local". Of course we hauled out TripAdvisor (my trusted travel companion) and found this restaurant which is one of the top few in the area.
We were lucky to get a table outside on a calm warm evening. We drank a bottle of Rose from Provence and ate the set 39 Euro menu (my husband) while i ate two courses off the a la carte. While the food was not amazing, we ate a Michelin starred restaurants the two nights before and the one after, it was definitely a very satisfactory meal at a fraction of the price. The duck we had for the main course was DELICIOUS and quite one of the nicest main courses we had on our trip.
All in all it was a very nice interlude, unassuming, very pretty terrace, dignified friendly service, and the price was right- 100 Euros with a bottle of wine and three courses. A fraction of the price of Bernard Loiseau's 3 starred Michelin restaurant over the road and while it could not really compare, nor should it, it was a very enjoyable meal with the excellent company of my husband.More
