We loved staying at this place which is well located between Tours and Orleans. We enjoyed the fantastic breakfast with local products and the wine on the terrace and "salon bleu". The hotel is in beautiful ancient building and the furniture carefully chosen to make you travel in time. All in all we can only recommend this hotel

The hotel is a charming restoration of an old abbey which dates to the 11th century. Although renovated as a hotel, care has been taken to maintain a the original architecture. There is no air conditioning so it can be pretty warm in the summer. If you do stay in the summer we recommend the superior rooms on the second floor (first floor to Europeans). The top floor is considerably warmer in summer. There is no lift, so if you have a mobility issue, this can be a challenging hotel.

Room Tip: Top floor is quite warm in summer.

The room certainly had character but it was hot and stuffy. I could not open the windows due to the number of rather large insects crawling about. Even with the windows closed I spent a good part of my stay catching the ones that managed to find a way in. About 30 or more! Hotel staff seemed nonchalant about it when I mentioned the problem.
No shower in the room. Bathtub only.
I had a lot of luggage and was travelling alone and it was a very long way and up 4 flights of stairs to get to the room.

The hotel was as charming as advertised, and the staffs was very helpful. Parking was easy and protected in the courtyard of the hotel. A near-by restaurant (petit Bateau) was outstanding. We will be back!

Nice hotel full of character and history. Good location (20 minutes from Chambord castle). Friendly staff and short walk to local businesses and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommended it.
