This hotel is ideally situated for exploring the Loire Valley with its many Chateaux and several excellent golf courses. The hotel is in the centre of the ancient and picturesque town of Beaugency. It has safe and free parking which allows one to explore the town, it's medieval history and numerous restaurants.
The rooms are comfortable some with showers others with baths. Some of the rooms have been recently renovated. The restaurant serves an excellent buffet breakfast and a set three course meal in the evening. The only downside is that the menu does not change on a daily basis. The staff are friendly and helpful especially Alison on reception who was able to sort out any issues especially on how to control the towel rail which seem to have a complicated operating system where no instructions were prominent.
This hotel is an excellent base for an overnight stay or a short break when exploring the Loire Valley

This is an excellent hotel in a beautiful location. The room we stayed in was very big and had lovely old beams running across the ceiling. The staff are helpful and friendly. The restaurant serves lovely food.

We spent 2 nights at L'Ecu de Bretagne and found it a very good hotel, the room was good, breakfast excellent and the restaurant good. Very friendly and helpful staff and in an excellent location. Private parking is a bonus.
The town of Beaugency is worthy of exploring and the Chateau a good visit, plenty to do and see in the area, well worth a visit. We would return to L'Ecu de Bretagne again.

Room Tip: Rooms looking out to the square at the front are good

Positives - Lovely staff- so helpful and really approachable. Paid great attention to customer service - always with a smile:-) Shower pressure was pretty good even at busy times. Mattress was just a little uncomfortable though. Breakfast was great. Good selection of juices, breads, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, etc. - all self serve. Also, had dinner on one night which was good. Most guests seemed to stay just a night or two as its a great, convenient stop en route to other locations in the Loire area etc. Pool area was welcoming and a great plus to the property. Great Wi-Fi throughout the property. Car parking area can be very busy but local parking is available within walking distance of hotel. Stayed for 7 days and would definitely recommend a visit. Thank you Rita, Allison and the rest of the Staff- well done to you all. Hope to re-visit soon.
Negatives - Mattress was a little uncomfortable and no chest of drawers so difficult to fully unpack. Had to leave suitcase on floor and use as drawers. Wardrobe a little on small side to share. Room a little small for stay of more than a couple of days.

Room Tip: There are Rooms onto the car park which Rooms onto car park might be a little quieter.

Second visit to this hotel, it is a lovely set of buildings. We stayed in room 3, a comfort double. The room was very nice - high ceiling, but lacking any 'view', but does have air con. Our only issue is that we wanted to leave before 7am - Saturday in August traffic, we paid the evening before and were assured that someone would be available to open the external gate at 6.30am, however it was only opened just after 7am - ourselves and another couple had wanted to leave earlier (the other couple had even parked outside on the road, but it is not possible to reach the exterior of the hotel from the rooms!)

Room Tip: Comfort rooms have air con
