Just an over night but able so see the old centre which is very attractive, a great area to explore or breaking a longer journey. The hotel ,once a hostelerie, with plenty of room for horses carriages and guests and retains the atmosphere. A drawback for me was the long window in the downstairs bedroom which opened directly onto the pavement .this meant that it needed to be shut all night in spite of the very effective central heating. Dinner was excellent ,other than the puds costing 8 euros .we didn't buy. Breakfast was well worth 12euros good variety of cereals , fruit,, cold items, breads and pastry the coffee was often replenished. .we would return and make a regular stopover

Room Tip: Check the downstairs windows, particularly if the when it's hot

Our room was comfortable and quiet. The staff is very friendly and responsive. The breakfast is adequate and very convenient. The food at the restaurant is excellent and the price is very resonable. Parking in the yard is a plus. We’re recommending it and we’ll be back!

This hotel is ideally situated for exploring the Loire Valley with its many Chateaux and several excellent golf courses. The hotel is in the centre of the ancient and picturesque town of Beaugency. It has safe and free parking which allows one to explore the town, it's medieval history and numerous restaurants.
The rooms are comfortable some with showers others with baths. Some of the rooms have been recently renovated. The restaurant serves an excellent buffet breakfast and a set three course meal in the evening. The only downside is that the menu does not change on a daily basis. The staff are friendly and helpful especially Alison on reception who was able to sort out any issues especially on how to control the towel rail which seem to have a complicated operating system where no instructions were prominent.
This hotel is an excellent base for an overnight stay or a short break when exploring the Loire Valley

This is an excellent hotel in a beautiful location. The room we stayed in was very big and had lovely old beams running across the ceiling. The staff are helpful and friendly. The restaurant serves lovely food.

We spent 2 nights at L'Ecu de Bretagne and found it a very good hotel, the room was good, breakfast excellent and the restaurant good. Very friendly and helpful staff and in an excellent location. Private parking is a bonus.
The town of Beaugency is worthy of exploring and the Chateau a good visit, plenty to do and see in the area, well worth a visit. We would return to L'Ecu de Bretagne again.

Room Tip: Rooms looking out to the square at the front are good
