Although we visited in mid June, we were surprised how non-congested the town was - we expected hoards to visit this wonderful historic city (no doubt July and August would be manic).
There is so much to see here, and a lot of history to take in, and (luckily) it's all walking distance (although with a lot of hills and stairways).
An ancient prison, church, battlements, great vistas, surrounded by historical houses, cafes and reataurants.
Saturday and Wednesday has markets in the town (starting early and finishing about 1pm) which allows sampling of the best of local produce and crafts.
