Parisian design, style and decor in the heart of the latin quarter. Good food and seller. It has everything to be fabulous but the service is not at the same level and we can find too much tourists.

Dinner at Relais Odeon was my favorite meal during a recent week in Paris which included dinners at restaurants operated by Joel Rubichon, Guy Savoy and Alain Ducasse.
Maybe it's that I have a greater appreciation for straightforward dishes with fresh ingredients than the "fancy" food by the name chefs.
Good food, good, wine, good conversation in a very comfortable setting made this my favorite meal in Paris.

We were burnt by some other tourist restaurants and waiters in other areas of Paris. And, we decided to find a place to eat in St. Germain de pres area on Jan 2nd, 2012.

The area is like a little alley in Covent Garden/Holborn Or Washington Square in the early 1990s. You will love the whole area better than dumpy Saint Michel area, just outside Odeon, and, East of St. German de pres.
FYI, Dr. Guillotin's humane beheading machine was tested in this street and you will find its footing stones just in their outdoor seating area.

What we find is that there are lots of English Speaking students in the neighborhood, and the restaurants seem to be well visited by both elderly, locals, and students. Getting late into the night, less people seem to eat in anywhere, and we accidentally stepped into Cour Du Commerce St-Andre, where several places were open late serving dinner till 1am or later.

Without hesitation, we entered Relais Odeon, and we were welcomed by the host. Soon, English Speaking Server ushered us in, with the English Menu.

We ordered an asian style Salad, And, steamed Cod and steak, and two dessert.
The tastes have mixture of traditional bistro, with a hint of fusion, very well-prepared. The price was right or cheaper for what you get.

The clients are in their 30s-50s, it seemed to be we were the only tourists then.
Still late, outside was seated with coffee and wine drinkers, inside was covered with dinner guests, and quiet couples.

Their winning keys are Great ambiance with matching decor, very attentive waiting service, undertoned, but very thoughtful food experience together. I think this place deserves 5 stars. And, I am glad I finally found a place to head to whenever I visit Paris from now.

If you can ignore the rude waiters at this restaurant then you may enjoy the food and the location.
Be specially wary of the waiter who greets people who appear to be tourists with 'can I speak English or do I have to speak French'. He is likely to demand a substantial tip for abrupt service or 'forget' to bring the change from the bill.

We stopped by for a late lunch, to escape the biting cold.
The service was prompt and friendly, we a window seat it a very good spot for people watching. The food was excellent value, with very large portions, the Cesar Salad was the largest we have ever had. A surprisingly good find in a busy area.
