Located in my favorite neighborhood of Saint Michel, this apartment is centrally located and surrounded by restaurants, night life, and within walking distance of Notre Dame (5 min.), the Luxembourg gardens (10 minutes) and Saint Michel (2 min.). I chose it for this reason, even without any reviews. The apartment is in the back of an old building, so the apartment is somewhat dark. The bed and pull-out are comfortable. All the amenities (bedding, towels, dishes) are old and mismatched which made the 130-euro "linen fee" outrageous. There is no air conditioning, nor fans, so it could be uncomfortable when the weather is hot. The owner of the apartment was very kind and helpful. I received a full refund of my 400-euro deposit (paid in cash) at the end of my stay, which I had worried about. In all this was a passable choice, but I expected more for the price.
The Apartment is in a great location but isn’t in my opinion worth the money we paid. The bedding/towels were worn out & a little shabby - A little money spent on this would make a big difference. The view is ... again not worth the money. Unfortunately students live upstairs and one night kept the party going until 4am. Paris is expensive but care and pride should be taken when renting your property to travelers.
Although the apartment is situated on of the busiest roads in Paris, it is remarkably quiet and peaceful, for it is at the rear of the property, overlooking a small courtyard. The building is very atmospheric, dating to the eighteenth century, and is interesting and secure.
It provides good accommodation – a comfortable bed and plenty of space in the living area. There is a internet-connected television and the wifi connection is good. The kitchen, naturally, is small but it has everything you require – oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker. Our only complaint would be the absence of a dining table. This is the reason we have given it 4 stars. Everything else was very good indeed.
The great advantage of the property is the location. It could not be more central, about 300 metres from Notre Dame. It is close to the Latin Quarter and the Left Bank, five minutes to the Pantheon, ten minutes to the Luxembourg Gardens. From the apartment you can walk to the very best of Paris. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in the area – the excellent Bar a Huitres is about 20 metres away. We especially enjoyed Le Pre Verre on Rue Thenard on the other side of Boulevard Saint Germain. There are plenty of cafes, interesting Lebanese and Far Eastern restaurants, boulangeries and supermarkets within easy walking distance. We had an excellent stay in the apartment over a long – and sunny – weekend. We would like to thank Alan the owner for his kindness and his efficient hospitality. We can certainly recommend the apartment to anyone who wants to experience the joys of the centre of Paris.
