“Wonderful Staff”
Reviewed 8 March 2012

This is a lovely hotel superbly located in the theatre district of Paris. What sets it apart from other hotels is the staff. From reception right through to the night porters, all are friendly and very very helpful, polite and down to earth.

From a personal point I would love to keep this hotel a little secret to ensure I can get back there! However, the staff deserve better and I will finish by saying I fully recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to feel at home in Paris.

We were really happy with our stay here, all the staff were friendly, the french staff had great english and they were really friendly which is not always the case in Paris. The English owners are really helpful and gave us directions and helped us if we needed anything.

The room was a triple room and unlike some triples it had lots of space, good size bathroom, separate walk in type wardrobe/closet. The room also had a safe and a minibar which were great additions that aren't always in Parisian hotel rooms. We used the safe but not the minibar :)

The decor was beautiful throughout the hotel and the room was just as nice.

We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, we went out to a local cafe which was excellent but I would imagine the hotel breakfast would be nice.

This hotel is a short 5minute walk from Gallaries Lafayette and there are 2 metro stops nearby so it is super convenient.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone. It is fab!

From the time the hotel confirmed our online reservations, we have been afforded the most professional and personalized service.

Our ride which Hotel Gramont arranged for us was waiting upon arrival at the airport and the staff checked us in immediately even though we arrived the hotel 2 hours early. There were fresh croissants, hot coffee and tea, bottled water even candies at the reception room for the guests every day during our stay. I travelled with 3 family members and stayed at the quadruple room which is in fact 2 adjoining rooms on the 5th floor with a full bathroom (toilet & shower) in each room. The size of each room is sufficient for our needs, even found it roomier by European standards, and very clean and comfortable.

Hotel is tucked away in a small block with business building offices so it is very quiet at night (great for a good night's rest). Yet Hotel Gramont is only within 2-3 blocks away from 3 metro stations and several bus stops that go into the different arrondisements in the city. It is about 5 blocks away from the les grands magasins (Galeries Lafayette, Printemps), Opera Garnier & the Roissy bus drop off point; about 7-8 blocks away from the designer clothing & food boutiques at Madeleine (Chanel, Gucci, Fauchon, Hediard, etc) and about a mile away from the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay museums. There are lots of brassieres and cafes a block or two from the hotel as well as boulangeries for your daily fresh baked baguette needs :).

What is most impressive is how every hotel staff member shows that they really care about the guests. They make it their business to know you by face, if not by name, without being intrusive and always remaining professional with their work.

Needless to say, I highly recommend Hotel Gramont as a hotel to stay in Paris for its excellent professional and personalized staff service, reasonable rates, and convenient location.

Room Tip: ask for room 501/ 502 if you book a quadruple room

My fiance and I were staying in Paris for the weekend and booked last minute at the Hotel Gramont. We arrived pretty early in the am from the Eurostar and wanted to drop our bags off at the hotel before getting breakfast - until we could properly check in.
As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by two smiling faces. When we said we would check in later but if we could leave our bags, they started apologizing that our room wasn't ready. We told them we completely understood, we were very early for check in anyway, but they had us sit in their reception area and served us coffee, juice, and an assortment of croissants and pain au chocolat. Before we knew it, we were brought upstairs to our room which was small, but very nice and well decorated. We definitely were not expecting breakfast and to check in so early, but it just goes to show how friendly and accommodating the hotel is. I would not hesitate to come back for another stay.

After reading a lot of reviews on Tripadvisor, we decided on this hotel and are glad we did! The Gramont is right in the middle of everything, you can easily walk to the Louvre, the Opera Garnier and Gallery Lafayette. There are lots of nice to very nice restaurants within a 5 minutes' walking distance. It's also one of the few hotels in Paris that has family rooms and our children slept very well on the comfortable sofa-bed. The rooms are nicely decorated and above all very clean, as are the bathrooms which are very small, but also very clean and adequate. My husband had been staying at hotel Concorde Lafayette (4*), while attending a congress before joining us at the Gramont, and he liked the Gramont much better as it was cleaner (chairs in the CF were broken and dirty), cheaper and so much friendlier. That's exactly what I am looking for in a hotel: it has to be clean and the staff have to be friendly.
The breakfast, which we had at the hotel was good as well : croissants, pain au chocolat, bread to be toasted, 4 or 5 different jams, 4 to 5 meats, cheeses, fresh fruits, eggs , juices, milk, tea and coffee and more.
But, to repeat what other travelers have already mentioned, the staff really are the best. They are super friendly and willing to assist in any way 'avec plaisir' . They made several phone-calls to make reservations in restaurants and had good suggestions about where to eat. So thanks again Aurelie, Nicci, Sandra and the dark-haired girl who checked us in and whose name I did not catch. Thank you for making our trip so much easier as our French is not very good. We will return to Paris and then we'll certainly return to this hotel but we have to make sure we book well in advance, since it is often fully booked on weekends.

Having picked this hotel from the Tripadvisor reviews we were not disappointed. We booked direct and from that moment on the customer service was fantastic. We we arriving earlier into Paris and they arrange transport and had a room ready for us. The hotel has a lovely feel, being both traditional and modern. Our room was at the top so we had a balcony and while the view is not breath taking being able to sit out and look at the Paris skyline was worth it. The hotel staff can and do help with everything and there's a great personal feel to a central hotel. The location is good, very central once you get you bearing, the louvre is within walking distance, but several metro stations are close by. I would recommend and would stay here again when in Paris.

The hotel was ideally located for the Roissy Bus and within easy walking distance of the Opera, Louvre, Musee D'Orsay and most of the other usual tourist must sees. The advantage of the hotel was that although close to everything it was sufficiently tucked away to be quiet and calm at night time. The biggest plus to the hotel, which we only discovered on the last morning was the breakfast. Now it does depend on what you classify as a good breakfast but for me the choice of meats, cheeses, juices, pastries and coffee were enough to keep me going until the afternoon and at €13 was significantly better value than the neighbouring brasseries that we tried on the other days. The lift is snug so for those of you with claustrophobic tendencies the stairs may be a better bet. The room while not huge was perfectly ample for a couple of days in this beautiful city. The team on the front desk were excellent and really did count as a team for we met 7 different people during our time at the hotel most of which we spent out and about exploring the city. For those of you hoping for an area to shoot the breeze and mingle with other guests this is probably not the best option for you. There is a sitting area or lounge than is comfortable and provides newspapers, drinks and croissants but not somewhere you would really spend much time people watching unless you were prone to stalker type behaviour. The availability of a PC and printer in this area was invaluable for printing of boarding passes and much less cumbersome than the lengths I've had to go to in other hotels with logging on copying to my email then emailing the hotel and them then printing the boarding pass out. And I have to say it is the little touches that really made the visit so pleasant. The friendly staff, the location, the printer and the croissants all made for happy memories and we will be back.
