We took a break and headed to Café Mollien for breakfast. The staff were amazing and food delicious. We ordered grand café latte, pain au chocolat, croissants, water/evian and something else. Lunch time came around and we went back to Café Mollien for brioche Nutella, bagel poulet, quiche salmon and the usual café latte. Highly recommend sitting on the balcony. Loved every moment in Paris, dream come true. FYI the Roissy Bus from the airport into the city centre works great. There is delicious food on every corner. Angelina’s and Le Relais de l'Entrecote lived up to their covenant.

There were four in our party and after a few hours in the museum we decided to take a brake and this is the only place to have a coffee without exiting so we psyched ourselves up and stood in line (all four of us). This is a one order and fill at a time operation which is completely inadequate for the foot traffic. Seats were constantly full and they refused to open the outside seating. They even roped off the exit and monitored you leaving. Beverage and food service is minimal and expensive. The only reason it is so busy is that it is the only available place to rest with a beverage. Just like with restrooms, they are few and far between with a long line. You are trapped and if you want a rest and a snack this is your only choice. The cafe could be run so much better and be more pleasant for visitors if they chose to make improvements. No choice; however, I would recommend waiting until exiting and going to one of the many cafes in Paris for a much more enjoyable experience and fabulous food.

This is a basic-entry-level cafeteria-type cafe--and for that, it does a reasonable job.

We typically try and eat in museum cafes--and we have eaten in dozens in the US and Europe. Some are top-rate, Michelin-starred (RijiksMuseum Restaurant) and some are literally sandwich shops with old style coffee makers.

We eat at them because: 1. we support the museum; 2. we people watch the museum goers; 3. getting older, eating in-house cuts down our need to walk!

We happened on the Cafe Mollien by accident--we literally walked around the corner and found ourselves in the line--and we were SO glad not to have eaten in the mall-style eating places in the underground mall of the Louvre!

Bad points: The Mollien staff was disorganized. The newest person was working the register, and their were more people in the line than eating at the tables--in fact, most of the tables were empty for the two hours we were there, because the line moved so slowly.

The good points: WOW, the views are great on the terrace. Stunning views of the Louvres' enormous interior courtyard with the glass pyramid.

If you need a break after hours in the Louvre, this is a good place to sit down if you can find a place. Its small and there is almost always a line to order food and find a chair in the outdoor terrace. We had club sandwiches which were passable; the espresso and the cappuccino were marginal. The prices however were quite reasonable .
