The apartment is really cozy and pretty, i loved it! The area where it is located is amazing and there's a lot to do there, you'll never get bored. Also the metro is near the apartment which makes it easy to go and visit the whole city.

“Great location”

First the positive. We are a family of 3. The location in the center of Montmartre couldn't have been better. Restaurants and shops right outside the apartment building, and Metro links just down the street. The apartment was cozy, and decorated with lovely objet d'art, and equipped with most modern conveniences: washer and dryer, dish washer, coffee machine (which took a while to figure out), etc. The view was a small courtyard, 7 floors down, and other apartments on all sides - we felt a bit like James Stewart in the film Rear Window :-)

The negative. The owner forgot to tell the caretakers that we were coming, but we contacted them just before arrival and were told where to get keys, which went smoothly. However, the caretaker was not told that we were 3 guests, and we never did get a duvet cover for the sofa-bed. The sofa-bed was very hard, but our teenager said it was okay.

Six flights of stairs (120 steps) can be a bit difficult to manage, especially after a good meal and some wine. We are in relatively good shape and health, but the climb seemed to become more challenging as the days progressed - we stayed 6 nights. The space had been dusted and the floors and tabletops and bathroom nicely cleaned, but the tableware was spotty and the place really needed a good spring cleaning.

The website photos showed a fantastic view over the city and the Eiffel Tower, which was a major reason why we selected this apartment. There was no such view. The view consisted solely of the courtyard, which was charming but why have a photo of a non-existent skyline?

“Fantastic Little Apartment”

This apartment really exceeded our expectations. We were a party of 3 staying only in Paris for two weeks and I could not imagine having stayed anywhere else for the duration of our trip.

We initially had a small mixup which delayed our getting the keys by 6 hours at the beginning of our stay. Patrick was incredibly understanding and helpful in regards to this stressful situation. I was able to get ahold of him promptly and he worked very hard to remedy the confusion, even going so far as to offer to pay for a hotel room for the night if we were unable to get the keys that day. Fortunately we were able to get into the apartment that night! Thank you so much to both Patrick and Veronika for keeping in contact with me and reassuring me that they were doing everything possible to get the keys to us!!!

Aside from that confusion, the apartment was really amazing.
The door from the main street is a cute blue door and it opens into a small courtyard. Everyone in the building was super friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome.
The apartment itself was quaint and the perfect size for the 3 of us. It's such an amazing feeling to wake up to the sunrise, open the windows, drink your cup of coffee and listen to the bells of Sacre Coeur ring in the morning.
The bed and the couch bed were both comfortable, perfect to crash out on after a long bike ride or walk around the Louvre!
There were ample amounts of dishes, plates, cups and utensils to use in case we felt like cooking. Just down the street there was a market, and we did purchase a few things for breakfast and dinners in the apartment.
Also it was great that there was a metro station so close to the apartment. After a long day its nice to know you don't have to walk far from the station to the apartment! (Tip: there is an elevator in the Abbesses station to get to ground level!! We didn't find that out til halfway through our trip!)
Although there was a television, we barely used it because there is so much to do around the neighborhood!
It was in a small non-touristy pocket just a few blocks away from Sacre Coeur, and the cafe next door was AMAZING!!!
I will confess the stairs were a struggle to bring our suitcases up and down, and after a long day it was tough to walk up all those stairs, but its worth it for the sunrise and the moon over the courtyard roofs. It really is beautiful. And enhanced with a glass of red wine :)
I could go on about it for a while, but I won't. You'll just have to stay there and see!!!

Patrick, thank you so much for all of your help, and I will definitely be staying here again the next time I am in Paris. I loved it so much and it really did feel like home for the 2 weeks that we stayed there. Thank you again so much!!!!!

“Wonderful Stay”

We had a lovely week in Paris, mainly thanks to this wonderful apartment! We felt we were in the best part of Montmartre, a little non-touristy pocket. It's was so hot, 37 degrees on one day! So we were incredibly grateful for the AC unit and fan!! We cooked a lot in the apartment and had everything we needed, the Carrefour supermarket was brilliantly stocked with a variety of foods. The only down for us was that we chose this apartment as we wanted one with Wifi, however upon arrival we were informed it was down in the area and should be running in 24-48 hours, we were encouraged to regularly reset the hub and check. Well it never worked for the whole of our stay despite countless resettings, I'm sure they would of sorted something out if I'd chased up the caretakers, but I didn't really want to spend our holiday doing that! But honestly it was a beautiful apartment, in a beautiful area of Paris. Hearing Sacre Coeur ringing in the hours was a definite highlight!

Dear Bianca, thank you very much for your great review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay at my apartment. On the Internet access, the area was transitioning from ADSL to Fiber Optic provision during your stay, unfortunately. For your next stay, you will be able to enjoy ultra fast and reliable Internet access through Fiber Optic High Speed Internet for the same rental rate. Starting on August 1, 2014!

“Extraordinary Location to feel Parisian"”

My husband and I stayed here for one week during our honeymoon in Paris. Having already been in France for a week prior, we were tired of eating out at restaurants. The kitchen was more than adequate to cook our own meals (we ate breakfast and dinner there every day). Grocery stores and two metro stops are within easy walking distance. The neighborhood is easy to navigate and enjoyable to wander around after dinner. It was so enjoyable to have a temporary "home", with the amenities. The caretakers are attentive and there is an abundance of books, music and guides that will help with anything in the city. Be advised there are 114 steps to get up to the apartment and there is no elevator. We were aware of the stairs and it was not a problem for us, but if you have mobility problems this should be considered. If you want to use the printer, bring your own paper as well as any cables you will need to hook it up to your computer. I would recommend the "Piggale" stop over the "Abbesses" metro stop; although it's closer the rings of stairs to get out are tiring. The building is quiet and the apartment faces the courtyard, so you don't hear any of the street traffic. We were happy with the apartment and we would stay here again!

The place has everything needed to feel at home while in Paris! Rue des Abbesses is a great street just steps away from the metro and beautiful little shops!

“A romantic weekend in Montmartre”
Reviewed 11 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Fabulous and homely apartment in a great central location in Montmartre. Everything you need for a home away from home on a short break, but could do with some better kitchenware to replace the plastic plates.
Great connections to all the major sights for those wanting to see the main attractions in Paris. With only one change and a short walk for most sites.

For the non-sight see-ers, a fantastic area for exploring and plenty to satisfy your palate for the foodies.

A must try is La table d' Eugene. Amazing food and experience but do book before you arrive!
