Mid-August, 2010, the last night of our first trip to Paris (20th anniversary) my wife and I wandered up the Rue St. Roch -- on the right bank, a couple of blocks from the Louvre -- and just by chance decided to enter Auberge St. Roch. By appearance, it is a typical small Parisian bistro; a comfortable room in a charming older building. But what distinguished our dinner as one of the highlights of our trip were the friendly service (we speak French but English only diners were well treated by the bilingual servers) and the delicious, simple food (good wine, of course) at reasonable prices (we did find the cost of dining in Paris to be relatively moderate). We will go back -- to Paris and "our" restaurant.
