My family and I visited Paris and we went to the Eiffel Tower like everyone else. A few tips:

1) obtain your tickets in advance since the ticket lines are very long
2) there are two security checks to go through and everything must be out of your pockets so a small bag is preferable
3) the second stage (above the ground and first stage but not summit) is plenty high to go for amazing views. The top summit requires reservations apparently in advance so don’t worry about it.
4) take the steps down not the elevator/lift. It is an easy walk down and scenic as well.
5) start your approach to the tower from the Trocadero across the river. It is a very scenic way to see the the tower from up close and afar for great pics!
6) food and drinks in the grab&go or restaurant are fun but very expensive so be prepared to pay a premium for convenience and/or great views. This depends on your budget, if you can afford it do it.

Lastly, be patient. This is a very crowded and busy attraction. You may wait in lines a long time so be prepared in advance so the crowds don’t spoil your visit! It is worth effort in my view but for others a picture may be all you need... bon voyage!

Must book tickets well in advance, we didn’t want to wait in the large queue so didn’t end up going to the top - wish I would have know you had to book weeks in advance to secure tickets. From outside though extremely aesthetically pleasing at night time.

get there early or pre book otherwise on holidays and weekends prepare to queue. Great views from the top and even had a glass of bubbly ( at a reduced price too) at the top. You go to floor 2 first then the top then back to two then down to one. The glass floors on one are safe to stand on.

We purchased skip the line tickets through Big Bus tours and had to wait in line for over an hour. It seemed sketchy. We met a person at a cafe, they walked us to the Eiffel Tower to a person that had been waiting in line. We then had to wait for the tower to open and then wait in line for the "guide" to buy tickets. We were lucky in the sense that we were right away in the morning and the platform wasn't crowded. I don't know who gets to go up to the top. That just doesn't seem to happen anymore. It is such a let down after having been to this attraction 20 years ago. I realize things must change, but I don't think it is worth the time and price anymore to go onto or up to the 2nd platform.
