The museum was interesting, however, there were so many people it was hard to see what you wanted to see.
A magnificent museum and expect to wait over 45 minutes in line ( longer if you arrive after 12.00 noon ) Pay for you tickets inside and get a map & plan your tour inside before visiting the rooms.... this place is huge & impossible to see everything. Don't order lunch inside as it's overpriced & you'll be waiting for ages, bring some snack bars if you're hungry, you're allowed. A must see site in Paris
The Louvre is a Mecca of wonderful things to see but you need time and energy to see them wonderful Italian paintings a lot of religious themes sculptures we did not see much because of time
besides art and history the Louvre has an Angelinas an absolutely great restaurant famous for its hot chocolate there is a Printemps a up scale shopping store and many other things I believe there is 4 other restaurant there is a store where you can get macaroons the French kind one negative is the four guys waiting at the top of the stairs they want your expired ticket and their presence worried my wife
World famous for a reason - spent the whole day getting lost in its vast rooms. Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo very busy as expected but it's the art off the beaten track that you should take your time over.
There was an incredible line-up the day I walked over to the Louvre, so I chose not to go in. A lot of people I've spoken to say it's overcrowded and a place to avoid if you're the least bit claustrophobic, especially around the Mona Lisa. That being said the pyramid outside the museum is beautiful and the area itself is really photogenic. Caution: there are a lot of people selling all kinds of things there.
This was amazing getting to see all the art and sculptures totally and amazing day. Something you don’t want to miss out on.
Also random If you go to where the pyramid is inverted going down there is a massive mall. Totally didn’t expect that. We didn’t time plan for shopping so if you like to shop you may want to consider there from what I saw if looked great my husband was sad I already booked us a tour in the afternoon so we couldn’t go in the mall part.
Hard to navigate and exit; not clear at first how it works at first, where the entrance is. Signs were helpful to find key art pieces. Be careful of street people trying to sell passes that are not of real value.
Under 18s free and open until 9.45 means it's cheaper and quieter then usual. We had no queue to get in and no queue for tickets.
You really could spend days here in order to really take in everything that is presented, but even if you only have 1 day to spend in Paris, I recommend you spend some time here if at all possible. The "Mona Lisa" is here, of course, but there are too many treasures here to even mention. You just need to see it for yourself!
wowwwwwwwwww.one the most n best experiences I had .specially when I visited Iran parts of museum where I belong to.
I fully recommend everyone to take the hop-on-hop-off bus tour. Totally worth it, it was money well spent. And at this time of the year, be sure to dress very warm
