The louvre is massive. I had no idea. You need a plan of attack or you will be overwhelmed and see very little. Book a tour or purchase the audio guide. Well worth it just to see the highlights around.

Buy advance tickets to skip lines. It was warm inside so dress appropriately. Be prepared to wait to see the major pieces (Mona Lisa, etc.). It is controlled but takes patience

My family and I wanted to see the Mona Lisa along with other vast treasures at the Louvre. Here are a couple tips...

1) the lines are crazy long so purchase tickets in advance.
2) there are two key entrances to the louvre once you have tickets. The first is ground level near the pyramid and the other is underground near the retail stores near the bus parking. If one line is long try the other...we waited 15 minutes to get in while our friends waited 90 minutes in the other line. Also if both lines are long you can go nearby for food/snack come back to see if lines have finished. However, make no mistake you will wait in a line... patience is a virtue and treasured within are worth the wait however you decide.

Large museum with lots of exhibits, also extremely aesthetically pleasing. As we are under 24 from an EU country we got in for free - amazing! One thing I would say needs improvement is the signage as it’s so big more signs to point out exits and especially the Mona Lisa are required. Also the queue for the Mona Lisa is totally unreasonable and did not allow me to enjoy the experience of seeing the painting as it was very rushed.

While a fantastic museum with lots to see, spoilt by the huge crowds and tours. You really cannot get to enjoy much due to the over crowding! The major items to see are almost unviewable if that’s even a word.

The museum was interesting, however, there were so many people it was hard to see what you wanted to see.
