Holiday Inn Paris Gare de Lyon Bastille

Arriving in Paris, we were very excited. The Holiday Inn is positioned very well and close to all amenities. The room, although very small, however was new and had a romantic feel. The bathroom was impressive. It was disappointing that there was no breakfast included in the price and staff were a little abrupt. Down the road is the bus stop for the hop on, hop off tour bus which was great and value for money, especially if your in Paris for a short time and want to check out all the main attractions.

We stayed here for three nights and had a lovely stay. The hotel was really easy to find by taking the train to the Gare de Lyon, which was a very handy base and less than 5 mins walk from the hotel. I picked the hotel based on the reviews here and as mentioned in other reviews there is a sex shop adjacent the hotel. To be honest the neon light made it easy to find the hotel and the shop itself made no impact on our stay. I think I only once saw someone coming out of it! The area itself had a few homeless people in the vicinity and on our first night there was a feed run. But again they didn't interfere with us. THe hotel itself was lovely. The room was a decent size for Paris and the bed was large and very comfortable. THe room was quiet and clean and warm. The bathroom had a shower and bath and was great. I do love a decent hot shower! Actually they had a nice note that if you'd forgotten anything like deodarant or toothpaste they would supply it on a complimentary basis. There was a nice bar near reception which was great for a drink or two before or after dinner and they bar tender was really nice. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel because it was too expensive and there was a nice cafe serving petit dejuner across the road. The hotel was also within walking distance of Gare d'Austerlitz where we caught the train to Versailles. And it was near enough to the Seine that we had a beautiful walk on the river bank to Notre Dame. The team at reception were also really helpful any time we needed anything. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: We selected a room over looking the courtyard which was really quiet

Arrived mid afternoon expecting the usual rather corportate Holidat Inn feel and a reasonable hotel.
Was stuck on the top floor when asked if there was anything lower was told no!!!. With a little giggle the staff said it was an "Executive Room".

Firstly one of the lifts was broken not a good start. All along the corridor were trays of left over food left on the fllor. By the look of these they were breakfast but a 5pm it was not too much to have expected these to be cleared away.

How can I say this was the smallest room I have stayed in for a while. It had a double bed but you could not access the other side as the roof slid down meaning you could not stand.

Then into the bathroom there was a bath under the slope of the roof. There was a shower in the bath but the roof was too low to even sit up in this.

All in all it was clean in the room but the corridors were disgusting and the room was tiny. I know I was only in here for one night but really for nearly 200 Euro I expect a decent room in a clean hotel.

I do not believe I will ever stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a lower floor room and really choose a better hotel.

hotel is only 3 min to Gare de Lyon where several major lines can be raken to either City center or Disneyland.

service is ok but not great.

Rgular price is usually too high for what you get nwvertheless a solid hotel.

This hotel is actually closer from the gare du Nord as from the Bastille Square. It makes it very easy to travel in paris the subway is very close and with the RERyou re 2 stop from les Halles and 3 stoops from the champs elysee.
The rooms are comfortable and the outlook is quite new. The wifi is free in the Rooms as well. the breakfast spread is good and nothing is missing . It is really a good hotel for the value and the staff is friendly

Newly renovated, comfortable and of good taste. Small rooms - but no other rooms in Paris. Absolutely clean. I'm totally psych about cleaning - but it WAS clean. Well equipped bathroom, towels were changed every day. Comfortable bed, new linens, but I would prefer much more stiff matress. Total soundproof. Mini-frizer, TV, free WiFi. A lot of storage room.
Tasty fresh breakfast - could survive on it half day easily! Big breakfast area.
Friendly Englishspeaking staff.
Few min from Gare de Lyon, one of the central metro stations, with good connection to RER and city lines. Cafe and restorants near by, and MONOP's shop with all basic foods and reasonable prices.
Recommended.

We were glad that we chose to stay at this hotel for our visit to Paris. The King size bed was very comfortable. There was no noise at night and we slept soundly. The breakfast was more than adequate. We asked for an iron and got one within 10 minutes. The hotel is in a very good location. Wewent for a walk in the Bastille area and came across a lovely square - the Place des Voges. There were 2 museums nearby andboth were free - the Maison de Victor Hugo and the Musee de L'Histoire de Paris. We also walked across the Seine to the Jardin des Plantes - a better park than the Jardin du Luxembourg. The hotel is close to the Gare de Lyons which is on the Metro line 1 which passes many of the top site, such as the Louvre, Champs Elysee and Arc de Triomphe. It also has the RER line to the Disney parks and has connectionsto CDG airport. Two visits we would recommend are to the Rodin museum and a night cruise from Pont Neuf - the buildings are particularly impressive lit up at night.
