“Great Location But.....”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 January 2012

On the plus side this Hotel is close to the Louvre reasonable price for location but......the rooms are very small; minuscule sized bathroom - the shower's swivel door makes getting in & out difficult at best but worst of all no hot water for bathing had to heat up kettle for hot water!!!!!

Timhotel Le Louvre is well situated in a quite street, near the Louvre Museum. The hotel has no particular charm, but offers a decent bed at a decent price for Paris. Room and bath are small but I didn't need more for a good night of sleep. Don't go there for a romantic night, the place has no charm and everything is small. The room was clean, had evrything one could expect, including a coffe maker.

Hotel in a great location for the Louvre, Notre Dame etc. Breakfast was plentiful most days (and included in our very good rate), free wifi (though connection unreliable and intermittent), bedroom small and shabby, but a comfortable and clean bed and efficient aircon. The bathroom was tiny, the shower even tinier (don't drop the soap - you won't be able to pick it up without getting out of the shower!) and the ceiling and walls over the shower covered in mould, probably due to lack of ventilation (leave the bathroom door open when you take a shower). The hotel is undergoing an external facelift (including stone cleaning resulting in a lot of dust) and all rooms at the front of the hotel are covered in scaffolding and sheeting which makes it impossible to open the windows or to see out, and also makes the room dark.

Room Tip: Ask for a room which faces onto the internal courtyard.

The location of this hotel was perfect. We walked to so many tourist hot spots and were able to catch tour busses easily within walking distance. It's also in amidst all of the central Paris chic - so people watching, shopping, visiting cafes, etc, is all right at the doorstep.
The hotel, itself, though, is dated with pokey/cramped rooms. After staying there for four nights we were very happy to leave (we had pre-booked - so basically had little option to change hotel once we arrived).

I stayed at the Timhotel Le Louvre in June '11 and was a bit unsure what to expect after reading some reviews here. The hotel was easy to find and is centrally located in Paris. The reception area was small but the peope behind the desk were very helpful and friendly. The room was very, very small (perhaps the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed at) and the bathroom was just as small. It was nice and clean, though. Some traffic noise, but I wasn't disturbed by it. There are plenty of restaurants nearby as well. The breakfast was very, very good considering being 'continental'. I wouldn't mind staying there again!

I would recommend this hotel for its location, only 5 mins walk from the Louvre metro. Staff friendly. Room was small but fine for our needs, it was clean, quiet and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was small esp shower but again it didnt bother us. Air con worked fine. Breakfast was adequate for €10 each. Price rate was reasonable for location. Plenty of cafe, restaurants near by. Wyfi was working.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms off court yard

Had stayed before and it was good but this time got a large room at the back, useful as the front was being renovated. Even so, the hotel was very quiet, given that we stayed on what was esentiall y a Bank Holiday. They know how to party! Much better size room than many 3 stars in the UK and the bathroom was huge, although not much space for toiletries. The room itself had air con, flat screen tv and very useful tea and coffee making facilities. Also mineral water which was a nice touch. Everywhere was spotlessly clean.
The staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Breakfast is 10 Euros but is very good value as it is unlimited and also the choice is much better than say a pavement cafe. For example fruit salad, fruit yogurts cheeses, pancakes and ham are all there with the usual croissants and rolls and even these are freshly baked at the hotel. There is an outside courtyard with seating and tables, popular with smokers, but nice if you can get it on your own.
The location, of course, is wonderful. Close to the shopping at Les Halles, although again being renovated, and opposite Le Louvre. Also very good for Left Bank, Notre Dame and even the Orsay if feet will stand more. Good for bus and Metro stops too and plenty of cafe, restaurants close by. Good facility for leaving luggage and a safe near reception. Wi Fi is avaliable and is free.
Don't dismiss the McDonalds cafes if in need of a sit down and a drink. Nothing like our McD's, these have superb French cakes, pastries and macaroons, good choice of hot and cold drinks and ice creams. Very popular with the French and no one to move you on because you've been there a whilr.
All in all a great trip, we went for the Bastille celebrations and it really was very good, especially the night before with the impromptu jazz on the streets and the balls held at certain fire stations!
I'm already planning to go back in December.
